Dawn•

Finally eighteen.

Today, the day that is meant for celebration and happiness. A day to remember that you've been brought to this world.

I had waken up bright and early, the sun was shining, birds were chirping. My hair a birds nest, drool on the side of my mouth. Yes the scene was gorgeous and the sound but I was placed with my monsterious self. It didn't help that the moment I woke up a face appeared right in front of me.

°^° Earlier

I woke up to the sound of the alarm. Barely awake, I search for that pesky thing attempting to turn it off only to fall right of. Tangled in a mess of blanket that I attempted to take off. With a luck I sit on the floor, my mouth was dry. I peeled my eyes open only to scream with the sudden appearance of a face. There in all his glory stood Damien with a camera.

"What the hell!"

He laughs like there's no tomrrow. Clutching his side as he bends over , tears streaming on the corner of his eyes, while I yell at him.

"Get the hell out!"

As you can see my morning didn't go as planned, now that Damien managed to take hold a picture of my wrecked self, something to blackmail me.

Kat looks at me as I glare up at her, it had been her idea to let that pesky animal in.

"Oh come on , I bet it wasn't that bad"

Still glaring.

"It was a picture of my morning self"

She gives me a sheepish smile as I glare up at her.

"Anyways have you seen Jason I woke up this morning and he was gone"

Jason hasn't been around much, yes it hurt that he wasn't here to wish a me a happy birthday, but I was worried for my brother, all week long he hasn't been himself , always so distinct , never making an eye contact, so secretive .

"Honestly Kat I don't even know myself , hes been so secretive latly and every time I would ask he'd asnwer with, I'm fine bull crap"

Kat sighs besides me, she draws me in and wraps her arms around my body. Ever since dad and mom died aunt Kat had taken the role as our parents, mom had three sisters, one had died battling cancer, the other decided that family was a weight on the shoulder , Kat was the only one who stuck around, manage to land herself a great career, although failed at relationship. One thing for sure was that if you needed to talk to someone , to share something , Kat was there, always there. I appreciated her with everything , she was there during my darkest moment.

"Its okay whatever Jason is up to , I know its something benefitical. "

"I hope youre right "

right around twelve Kat and told me to visit the company , get a feel of the world , how to handle it. I had asked her to take care of the company while I prepare, at eighteen I wasn't sure if I wanted to take over the company, I wanted to live my teenage life but at the same time I didn't want Kat to have to be tied down to the company forever, although she insists that it didn't bother her, I could always see the longing in her eyes.

The company was set up like what a successful business, a stained glass building , eight floors flooded with employees. There have been many who'd tried to take hold of the company , to buy it but my father would always deny that offer. Its his father's success.

After the tour, I had driven to the store when Kat texted me supplies, the company took three hours of drive from the house and the store took at least twenty minuets from the house. By the time I got home I was exhausted. I reached the door trying to unlock it. The moment I unlocked it, I stepped in to see the house was dark. My heart sped for a moment until I see it come back on with a shout of happy birthdays. I look around go see everyone, a smile grew upon my face.

"Happy birthday Dawn"

Kat walks up to me and held me in her arms. I hugged her back as others follow.

One by one they bid they're happy birthdays. I gave them all a real smile. Walking further into the living room do I spot all the boys yelling at the tv. All the boys but one. I look around for him only to see him out in the patio looking at the sun going down. I walked outside into the patio and stood next to him. We stayed silent for a couple of second, ones in a while he takes a sip of his beer. I was actually surprised that Kat let some teenagers have beer but there were a few of Kate old friends here as well.

"Beautiful isn't it?"

My focus was on the sunset, its hues of colors painting the sky. I've always been a fond of the sunset, so beautiful in a world of choes.

"Yeah it is."

I turn to Damien who was looking at me instead of the sky, for a second I thought maybe he was talking about me but then again he's Damien, a playboy.

"So why aren't you with the rest of the boys yelling at the TV."

He only chuckles but then moves closer. Just a breath away, his aproximaty making my heart jump.

"Why would I want to be yelling at a TV when I can have the birthday girl to myself ?"

I noticed the way he tilts his heads and how one of his eyebrow quirk up. If its even possible, he inches towards me and I becime more frozen, I wasn't sure what to do, this wasn't like my past ex boyfriends, this wasn't something I was familiar with, for some reason , with Damien its a whole new world.

Before I could ask what he was doing I felt his lips against my own.

I responded.
