The boys kept me occupied. Straight after the movies, they wanted to play arcade games and have dessert. I swear it was like a full time day care. My battery even died before I could at least check to see if she really saved her new number. It was already so late and the boys really didn't mind being at the mall for that long.
I finally arrived back home and luckily there was not much to do, so I could slip into bed and text Courtney. She was the only person on my mind.
"Hey" I texted.
Our conversation continued until I fell asleep. I was really exhausted. I couldn't wait to see her tomorrow but I was so exhausted.
---------------------------------------------------------
"Damn." I said to myself.
I had overslept! I was hoping Courntey wouldn't be mad at me for this. So I rushed as quick as I could to get the dishes done, clean up, get my room tidy and get to showering. I was actually showering as fast as I could. The earlier I see her the more time we get to spend together. My phone kept ringing continuously while I was dressing. It was the guys. I don't know what they could possibly want from me because I was going to see them anyway. My phone rung again but this time it was Courntey. Her name lit up on my screen and I rushed for it.
"Hey, wassup?"
"Just wondering if you're on your way?"
"Don't worry. I was just taking a shower. I'm done now, heading right up." I chuckled.
"Okay, see you now."I hung up after her.
I looked in the mirror to make sure I was looking my best and off I went. I arrived at the venue and my heart pumped hard when I saw her car. I walked in and she was the first person I saw. She was so adorable. She was so beautiful. Her short, curved body. Her face. Her big round eyes. She was so perfect. She stood there waiting for me.
"Hey, look at you." I said.
"Hi. How are you?"
"I'm good, I'm good. You okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine. You're a bit late today. The guys were looking for you."
"You know me and time."
"Yeah, right." she chuckled.
I was hoping she wouldn't remember that I fell asleep last night."You fell asleep last night."
She had actually remembered and I was afraid she would.
"Haha yes. I suck at texting at times but it won't happen again."
She stared at me with a smile on her face. The most beautiful smile I had ever seen. This girl. Mhm. We snapped out of the moment when everybody asked us to clean up like everybody else was.
She was around the whole day but when lunch time came I could not find her. I looked around but she was nowhere to be seen, so I decided to text her. She told me that she was in the bathroom, so I rushed to her and knocked on the door.
"You want to come in?" her voice echoed.
Hell yes I wanted to.
"Haha heavens no." I said.
"What's changed? You used to come in anyway."
"I was a kid. It was appropriate back then." I laughed.
"Oh well, suit yourself."I heard a flush.
When she walked out of the bathroom, she seemed concerned. Almost curious. I loved the way she just gives me different kind of looks. I wanted to spend time with her on my own without any interruptions. So I had to ask her out.
"So, what are you doing this afternoon?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing. You?"
"Same. Would you mind if we went out for a milkshake?" I asked.
"Sure, why not? It's been a while" her face lit up.
"So after tidying up?" I asked.
"Yeah"
"Cool, let's get busy."We were done cleaning up and I was ready to go. Well, I usually enjoy socializing a bit before I leave. Courtney wasn't too fond of the idea that everybody wanted to play games before we left, so she brought it up that we had plans.
"Don't worry, I will be back. Won't be long." I told the guys.
I had to reassure them that I would be back.
We walked to the car and I watched how she just confidently threw herself in. I think I will enjoy having her around. I drove her up to Dan's restaurant.
We arrived. We sat down facing each other and ordered milkshakes. I had this strong urge to look at her. An urge which I gave into until she caught me. I was embarrassed. She wasn't supposed to catch me.
I broke the silence.
"So..."
So...?" she asked.
"We're here now." I said. Not quite sure how to carry on.
"Haha and?"
"You're beautiful, Courtney." It slipped.
She was really beautiful, though."Thanks, Sam...uhm, Sam..."
"Yeah?"
"I want to ask you something...and be honest."
"Okay." I wondered what it could be.
"Do you perhaps, maybe kind of like me?" she let it out. She looked so embarrassed after asking me.I have never been so proud to be around a woman like this. So confident. She takes the leap, she sets the ground wow! I was so impressed I even fell deeper for her than what I realized. While she was looking down, I put my fingers on her chin, lifted her face up, stared into her eyes and came closer to kiss her. It felt magical! Her lips were so soft. Her kiss was brain smashing. I was tempted to get deeper into it. This girl, my friend, has been so warm all her life and I'm only experiencing it now? Wow.
We stopped kissing and she looked deep into my eyes. We were on the same page, I could tell. We were speaking the same language without using words.
"Yes, I like you." I said.
"Oh my goodness." she blushed.
"How do you feel about me?" I asked.
"I like you too, wow." she said. There was a moment of silence and she looked down at her milkshake, playing with the straw.
"So what do we do now? Where do we take this?" she asked me.
I was numb. She really does take control and I love it!"I mean you don't have to date me. If you really just want to hang you can tell me." she chirped in.
She was really crazy to think I would not want to hang.
"I want to be with you." I said.
"So should we do this?" she asked.
"We should." I smiled. This felt amazing! I had myself a girl! She was my girl! The girl I've known so long right under my nose became my girl!
We went back to the car. Since she's mine now, I was free to let her into my world. We got into the car and I turned on my favorite song by Shaun.
"You love this song? Oh my goodness, it's such a good song!" she said.
"Yeah, I love it, come take my hand." I said.
She put her hand in mine and I could feel the chemistry better.
I swayed with her hand in mine, singing along to the song. Our song.
