I was having a really busy day today. My friends kept me company although they didn't know what had happened last night when I was back home.
I wanted to make sure she was okay, so I tried to reach out to her. She ignored my calls and texts. Any form of communication with me, she ignored it.
It took some time before she actually answered her phone and allowed me to come home to sort this out. I think I must have been unfair to her. I must have been a bit irrational. This is not who I am but for this girl I will try to see things from a different perspective.
I drove to her house.
I knocked on the door and she opened up.
"Hi." I greeted.
She didn't greet back, instead she just showed me the way to the porch so we could sit.Yes, she was waiting for me to speak. She refused to say anything until I spoke.
"I thought about what I did. I'm willing to try again. I'm willing to change and try something different."
The look on her face changed completely!
"Are you serious right now?"
"Yes. You are a phenomenal woman and I love you. You actually came at a time where I needed you. I love you."
"Oh, baby I love you too." she said.
"I'm never doing this to you again, okay?" I promised.
"I understand." she smiled. Her manner of forgiving baffled me. She forgives me for literally anything no matter how bad the damage caused to her.
After that, it was like nothing happened. She just lay her head on my shoulder and started a random conversation.
"When are you writing tests?"
We spent the night under the stars just talking.
-------------------------------------------------------
As the relationship progressed, she started finding problems in the most irrelevant things. It was straining me but I let it slide. I didn't want to seem like a bad person. She had problems with every girl I came across or knew. I couldn't understand it, it was so irrelevant.
Like the time I dropped Sune off after a night of studying. Courtney made it a big deal. She couldn't understand why nobody else could drop her off. Truth is I was the only one who had the means to drop her off and she had to be safe.
Sune only called me to checked up on me because I was driving back to res late. There was nothing to it.
Oh but when she caught a fit about Danielle who I used to train. Sure, Danielle is a pretty thing but I would never go for her.
Courntey and I were just hanging out when Danielle phoned me. It was a catastrophe.
"Who is she?" Courtney asked.
"You won't know her. She's much older, she has a boyfriend so I won't stress myself if I were you." Infact I had made it clear to her that Danielle and her guy were happily together for years now, celebrating their anniversary pretty soon again.
"Why is she calling your phone?" Courtney asked. This was exhausting.
---------------------------------------------------------
It got worse when Selena was in the picture. I do admit I lied to Courtney about meeting her so I could hang out with Selena. There was a bit of truth in it; like how my sister came home to take care of everything so I could go out.I was doing my weekend laundry at home when I heard footsteps. Yup, it was my girl. Her face already told me she was mad.
"Hey. Wassup. You look beautiful." I tried to cheer her up.
"Samuel, who is she!"
"Who." I asked.
"I saw the pictures. I'm not saying you don't have a right to female friends and all but that was inappropriate."
"Oh, ah that was Selena. We were hanging out today." the words slipped out of my mouth.
"You said you couldn't hang out with me today." she caught me.I had no idea what to say...
"Well, my sister came home and took care of everything that I was supposed to do."
I saw the tears in her eyes ready to fall."Look, it's not as bad as you think. She just wanted to use those pictures as a form of rebound to her ex. I swear it was innocent."
I had to be honest there."With MY boyfriend? Does that even make sense to you? I don't even post pictures of that nature with you on social media but you let her do it for her ex, a guy who isn't interested in her anymore?"
"I see nothing wrong with this." I debated.
"I'm tired of this! You either talk to your friend or I'm gone."Courtney cried. The waterworks were out and I felt so helpless because I could not understand the fuss.
I watched her turn around and walk away from me.
