I struggled to sleep.
I was glad White had walked in to see me. He came back alone this time.
"Where is Courtney?"
"She left."
"Oh...why." my heart sank.
"Some or other reason. She had to rush home."I wanted to ask if Mitchell is okay but I realized White didn't know about him. I looked down.
"I know you want to ask." he said.
That's when I figured he might have known.
"How's my son?" I eventually asked.
"He's fine. She went home for another reason."
There was silence."How did you not tell me, man..." White started.
"I don't want to talk about this. Not now."
"Okay...I'm just disappointed."I changed the topic "how was vacation?"
"It was relaxing. You should have been there. Next time, when you're out of this bed. You will make it!"You met anyone?" I laughed.
"No. But the girls were really hot." he said.
"Should have taken one for yourself."
"Haha, no man. I'm not ready. Chill."My face became a bit cold.
"What's wrong? You okay, man?" White asked.
"Lizelle...she hasn't said anything."
"Oh. Where is she?" he asked.
"Didn't say. Only told me she's going to a friend."
"I'm sorry, man....I don't know what to say or how to make it better. I really wish I could."
"No, it's okay. She will be back home. Don't worry."Just as I was about to finish the conversation, my sister waved at me from outside.
"I don't know if it's safe to come in. I'm pregnant and shouldn't be trying to catch anything." she said.
My sister. What would I do without her?
