I was with Rejoice, spending the afternoon.

"So, how's it going with Courtney?" she asked.
"How do you know?" I was stunned.
"This is a small town, my brother. You were spotted with her."
"Yeah aaah well. Courtney is Courtney."
"Courtney is Courtney heh?"
"Well there was not much I could do."
"Get her back?"
"She's getting married." I sighed.
"Oh, that's unfortunate. You never know if you try."

I was contemplating this after Rejoice said it.

"Mom and dad said they will be coming over. Have any idea where they are?" she asked.
"No. Not one bit...I bumped into White and Lizelle."
"Where was Michaela?" Rejoice asked.
"With them. Where would they leave her? It's their daughter after all.
"Baby bro. I know you're hurt but this too shall pass like many others."

I sighed.

"Are mom and dad coming to see Mitchell?" I asked.
"Is he coming here?" Rejoice asked.
"I suppose."
"I don't think Courtney will bring him here."
"Do they at least know the truth about you and her now?" Rejoice asked.
"They do. They are upset about this but acknowledge it."

I had asked Rejoice to speak to my parents and to confess that I have a son. My sister always has my back. She didn't judge me but this time she wanted me to do it myself.

"You think you can face mom and dad?"
"No. I don't know. I just want my boy, man."
"Don't worry." she said "all will be well." she hugged me.
