I was in the kitchen making breakfast. I checked my phone to see if there had been any missed calls from Lizelle but there was nothing. This was starting to upset me. There was no message or anything from her. She was really quiet. I know she had seen my messages. The network couldn't have been that bad.
I ate my breakfast and left to go and see my sister.
When I arrived it was messy and it looked like she had given up trying to get it clean.
"Joyce, look at this place."
"I know. Don't say a word."
"You should take it easy. How are you?"
"I'm alright thanks. You're looking good. Where are you off to?"
"These are my home clothes."
"Home clothes? Would you like something to eat."
"Not yet."I paused before asking.
"Have you heard from Lizelle?"
"No. Why?"
"Just that she hasn't been calling or taking my calls."
"She's with her girls. Let her enjoy. She will be back."
"You reckon?" I asked.
"Yup. Mom and dad were here yesterday. They can't wait for their grandchildren."
"Really? Aha..."Joyce put down her laundry basket.
"Looks your wife needs her time alone! You need to accept that. She needs her break. I know you love her and always want to smother her but please man. Even I need my break from Devin."
"I went to see Mitchell." I broke out.Her facial expression changed. Her reaction caught me off guard. She sat down and asked
"And? How did it go?"
"We'll he wasn't home."
"Sleepover?"
"No. Courtney took him away for vacation. So they both weren't home."
"Oh." she said. "Well you tried. Can't say you didn't."
