Kaylee's Father

Previously on "Love You to the Moon and Back" :

"Another fight?" I said. She looked up and sighed.

"And he doesn't know I sing." She whispered.

"If he found out, then he'd make me go to a business school. Make my life miserable." She said. I sighed. Kaylee's father was ruthless.

Then, someone who could possibly change everything walked in.

Noah's POV:

Kaylee's father walked in.
"Singing?" He said. We all looked towards him. Kaylee looked terrified.
"You. Kaylee, we're going. Now." He said angrily. Kaylee put the broom down, whispered goodbye and left. "What was that?" Danielle asked.
"Why was he so mad?" Sean asked. I stared out the door.
"Noah? We're talking to you." Alex and Ben said.
"Her dad doesn't know she's been singing." I say.
"What?" They all said. They kept asking questions but I ignored them.

She'll be ok. He won't do anything to her. She is his daughter after all. But what if he never let her sing again? Or made her go to boring business school?

What then?

Skye's POV:

Kaylee showed up earlier than everybody else today. She had a look of extreme concentration on her face like she was trying to figure out an impossible math question.
"Kaylee? What are you doing here?" She looked up.

"Huh? Oh. I... just wanted to come." She said.

"What happened with your dad yesterday?"

"Nothing. Nothing happened"

"But" I start.
"I have to go." Kaylee said running out.
"KAYLEE!" I yelled.

Danielle's POV:

Skye told me about how Kaylee ran out at the mention of her father. So, we tried talking to her.
"Hey Kaylee." I said. She smiled and stopped cleaning the desk.
"What's up?"
"Well, we need to talk about what happened yesterday." Skye said joining in. Her smile faded.
"Look, you are hiding something, you can tell us anything." I say. She was still quiet.
"Maybe Noah can get it out of her." Alex said walking by. We got Noah.
"Hey Kayls." He said smiling.
"Uh... I have to go." Kaylee said running out. We all looked at each other with confused and worried glances.

Noah's POV:

Kaylee kept avoiding me. It's been four days and she hasn't said a word to me. I walked into the Locker Room and saw Kaylee putting something away. This was my chance to figure out what was going on with my best friend.

"Hey Kayls." I said. She turned around and quickly shoved a piece of paper into her locker and closed it. She was about to run out again but I stopped her this time.
"Noah I have to go." She said.
"Where? What is going on with you? Ever since Music Night, you've barely talked to anyone and avoided me for the past few days." I said staring at her.
"Nothing. Everything is fine." She said playing with the ends of her long dark brown hair.

"You're lying."

"How would you know?"

"Every time you lie, you play with your hair." She stopped playing with her hair and didn't say a word.

"Tell me."

"Come on, you know you can tell me anything." I say. Nothing.

"Ple—" I start.

"I'm moving to Australia." She blurts out.

I stared at her. Did she just say moving?
"Moving?" I stared into her eyes.
"Yeah. I've been avoiding you to avoid telling you and everyone else." She said her voice shaking.

"When?"
"Two weeks."

"And when were you going to tell us?" I said my voice getting a little loud.
"The day you left?" Anger was building inside me.
"Huh Kaylee?" I said. Kaylee stared at me. There was something different in her eyes.

"Kaylee." My voice softened.

"I don't know Noah! I didn't want to tell anybody because then it will all get worse!" She said tears forming in the corner of her eyes. I started to say something but she cut me off.

"I didn't want to tell you because you're the one that matters most!" She said. She closed her eyes and let more tears come for a second and then left.

I can't believe it. Kaylee is moving to Australia...

And

I had scared Kaylee enough to make her cry.
