Kaylee is moving to Australia. Why? Because her father doesn't want her wasting her time on singing. He wants her to be like her older brother. Successful in business.
Noah's reaction? Not good. He goes and talks to her mother, who says she can't d...
Today is the day. The day she died. December 24th. The day before Christmas. Angela wanted to go ice skating but I refused. I told her about what today is. She couldn't care less.
"So? She's gone. She's never coming back. Gotta move on." She said.
"Move on? Move on? She's my sister! She died and you're telling me to move on. Forget about her completely?! You're insane!" I yelled and stomped off. I didn't care if Angela was crying cause I yelled at her. She deserved it. I went home and went to my room. The picture of Audrey was still next to my bed. Hasn't changed or been moved for 5 years.

~Flashback~ Narrator me Audrey's age: 18 Noah's age: 10
"But you can't leave Mum!" Audrey said.
"We've been over this Audrey." Her mother said.
"But I don't understand why you have to leave."
"It's your father and mines decision. It would be better if I'm gone."
"But what about Noah?"
"He's too busy with that girl and his friends at the Lodge. I've told him countless times not to go there but he doesn't listen."
"But Noah is your son! You want to leave him because he hangs out at The Lodge? I don't understand"
"Get packing. You're coming." Silence.
"No."
"Excuse me?"
"I'm not leaving Noah alone."
"Yes you are."
"No. I'm not." She walks out of her mother rooms and heads to the lodge. She finds Noah and Kaylee playing football (soccer). Kaylee makes a goal.
"Yes!" She jumps up. "Again?" He whines.
"You can't beat me." She sings. Noah rolls his eyes.
"What do you want to do now?" He asks Kaylee.
"Tag?" She replied. He shrugged.
"You're it." She says and they both go off in a chase. Jonathan is laying outside on the grass staring at the setting sky. Audrey sits down next to him.
"Hey" He says.
"Hey." She replies.
"What happened?"
"My mum is leaving"
"What? Really?" He says looking up at her. She sighs.
"Dad doesn't know, even though Mum tries to lie to me by saying he decided it."
"What about..."
"Noah? He doesn't know either."
"What are you going to do?" He asks sitting up.
"I don't know anymore. How do I take care of a crazy ten year old?"
"I don't know but if you find out, would you mind telling me?" He says turning his head to see Kaylee running from Noah. Audrey gave a small laugh.
"Sure." After a while, they went for a walk. Hand in hand, they walked back from the woods. A car speeding, came out of nowhere.
"Jonathan watch out!" Audrey said pushing him out of the way leaving her vulnerable to the car. It struck her.
"AUDREY!" He yelled. He ran towards her. He held her in her lap and took his phone out to call the ambulance.
"John" She whispered.
"Yeah?" He said looking into her brown eyes.
"Take care.. of .... Noah" She said.
"What? No Audrey..."
"Promise?"
"...yeah. Yeah. Promise." He smiled slightly as the tears rolled down his cheeks.
She closed her eyes.
"Audrey? Audrey!" Jonathan yelled feeling her pulse. Nothing. He held her close, crying.
Kaylee watched and so did Noah. His eyes widened.
"Noah?" Kaylee said softly.
"She's gone" He said crying. Kaylee hugged him.
~end of flashback~ Noah's POV:
"Noah? You up here?" My dad called. He wiped the tears from his eyes quickly.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"Dinner" I nodded and followed his father down the stairs. I sat down at the dinner table. My father was quiet as usual on this day. He still blames Jonathan for Audrey's death and it's been 5 years. I never had the courage to tell him the truth of what actually happened. I had Kaylee help me figure out who was in the car even though she didn't want to get involved. How'd I make her help me? I pulled the 'this is what Audrey would've wanted' card. She fell for that every time until she found out and almost strangled me. It feels like the right time. Well...except for the five years later part.
"Hey dad?" I asked.
"Hmm."
"About Audrey's death." He looked up.
"I...there's something you don't know about it." I made sure he was paying attention. He was.
"Jonathan... he didn't cause Audrey's death." He stared at me, his eyes sort of filling with anger.
"Then who did? Explain that." He said. 'Please don't yell at me' I thought.
"It was Mum." I said. His anger eyes stilled.
"What?" He replied shocked.
"Me and Kaylee I mean Kaylee and I, I think, investigated it. The car was Mum's."
"Really?"
"I didn't want to believe it either." I whispered. He rubbed his chin.
"I should've known." He said through gritted teeth. He got up and put his shoes on and coat.
"Dad? Dad where are you going?"
"To see someone."
"Dad please don't leave."
"I'll be back soon. I promise." He left. 'I promise' was the last thing Audrey said to me. Wait. No no no. I grabbed my jacket and put my shoes on and ran out of the house. Thankfully, I caught up with him, he was warming the car up.
"Noah go home"
"I want to see her. I have words to say too." He looked at me.
"That's my son" he joked and we drove off towards the city.
