It's so cold....(RWBY Male insert)

Opening Up

-Mrs. Goodwitch's class-
(Y/n) and team RWBY are watching as Pyrrha is sparring, well more like viciously beating all of team CRDL single handedly. Then once Pyrrha has won her battle Mrs. Goodwitch says.
Goodwitch:"Very impressive miss Nikos. Now, I know that's gonna be a tough act to follow but we still have time for one more match. Any volunteers?"
Then a boy with gray hair raises his hand saying.
???:"I'll do it."
Goodwitch:"Mercury is it? Very well let's find you an opponent."
Mercury then interrupts saying.
Mercury:"Actually I wanna fight her."
He then points to Pyrrha, causing Goodwitch to say.
Goodwitch:"I'm afraid miss Nikos has just finished a match. I recommend you choose another opponent."
(Y/n) literally jumps onto his feet saying.
(Y/n):"I'll fight him."
Mercury just gives (y/n) a angry look as if (y/n) had inconvenienced him. This doesn't bother (y/n) though as he goes into the arena and stretches while stating.
(Y/n):"I hope you plan on giving your all."
Mercury just stands silently on the other side of the arena from (y/n). (Y/n) then began to flip his sword around until it opened up all the way. (Y/n) then walks into the middle as he then holds out his right fist like a boxer before a match. Mercury just looks at him a little confused while asking.
Mercury:"What are you doing?"
(Y/n):"This is the sign of respect between those about to spar."
Mercury then warily walks to the middle and bumps (y/n)'s fist. As they both walk back to their perspective sides and wait for Mrs. Goodwitch's countdown.
Goodwitch:"Ready?"
(Y/n) then closes both eyes and begins to breathe deeply. As Mercury just looks at (y/n)'s position and gets into a fighting stance. Then both of (y/n)'s eyes open as Mrs. Goodwitch says.
Goodwitch:"Begin!"
Mercury then rushes (y/n)'s direction and begins to throw a kick as (y/n)'s blue aura wraps itself around his right arm looking like blue flames as with little effort he grabs Mercury's foot. Mercury then asks confused.
Mercury:"How did you do that?"
(Y/n) just smiles and says simply.
(Y/n):"Easy. I just draw my aura to specific places which will allow me to increase my limbs speed. I can also disperse my entire aura across the outside of my body to make me faster overall."
(Y/n) then notices Mercury twisting his whole body to throw (y/n) off balance. Mercury then brings one leg up to hit (y/n) in the face with a heel kick, which connects sending (y/n) sliding back. Mercury then says.
Mercury:"While I must admit that level of aura control is impressive, it'll leave the rest of your body defenseless."
(Y/n) then wipes a little bit of blood from his mouth and then takes a deep breath as he closes his eyes. Mercury then rushes him and throws a kick at him only for (y/n) to open his eyes and grab Mercury's foot and throws him to the other side of the arena. Mercury then says.
Mercury:"He blocked it again. How?!"
Then without warning (y/n)'s aura is wrapped completely around him causing the atmosphere in the room to get cold. At this point (y/n)'s aura looks like a towering inferno of blue flames as he says.
(Y/n):"Like I said I can also increase my outright speed so I wouldn't take me lightly. Now show me what you got."
Mercury actually has a smirk as he stands back up rushes (y/n). They both collide in the center as they exchange blows back and forth. (Y/n) then goes in for an attack he is kicked in the face by Mercury again which is followed by a multitude of kicks that all connect. This leaves (y/n) reeling as Mercury begins to make a tornado of air blasts from his feet and brings them down on top of (y/n). Only for (y/n) to use a glyph to make a layer of ice to protect himself. (Y/n) then uses a glyph and all of his aura to increase his speed as he pinballs Mercury around as (y/n) bounces off the other glyphs he has created. (Y/n) then is about to go for one last sword slash but then Mercury raises his hand and says.
Mercury:"I forfeit."
This causes (y/n) to stumble to stop himself from hitting Mercury. (Y/n) then had a look of surprise as he asks.
(Y/n):"Why?!?!!"
Mercury:"Because, I know when I'm out matched."
(Y/n) just hangs his head in disappointment. As he goes back to his seat he is then asked by Ruby.
Ruby:"Why didn't you use your eye? With it you would have beaten him no problem."
(Y/n):"I don't want to rely solely on that, plus it comes with very painful drawbacks, remember?"
Ruby:"Yeah, I guess."
(Y/n):"From now on it's only for emergencies."
Not long after that the bell rings which (y/n) notices snaps Blake awake as he realizes her eyes have bags this worries him a lot. Then team RWBY head off back to their dorm.
-team RWBY's dorm-
Weiss, Ruby, and Yang are talking to Blake about the dance. As Yang says.
Yang:"We think you should go."
Blake:"You, what?"
Yang:"We're worried about you. This investigation is starting to mess with your head."
Blake then just argues.
Blake:"I'm fine."
(Y/n) then says.
(Y/n):"You barely eat, I don't even think you've slept in a week. You also seem to be having issues during class."
Blake then angrily responds.
Blake:"You think I care about classes?! People's lives are at stake!"
Yang:"We know and we're still trying to figure out what Torchwick is up to."
Ruby:"Our little operation revealed a lot about where he is gathering his supplies."
Blake:"But there's still unanswered questions."
(Y/n):"Blake you won't find anything if you can't keep your eyes open."
Yang:"We're just asking you to relax for one day."
Weiss:"It'll be fun. Yang and I'll make sure if it."
Yang:"Yeah we're planning the whole thing."
(Y/n):"And once it's over we'll continue our search."
Ruby:"So what do you think?"
Blake then sits in silence as everyone waits for an answer. However, (y/n) knew her answer before she spoke her body language alone told him what she thought. Blake breaks her silence by saying.
Blake:"I think this is a colossal waste of time."
She then got up to leave only to stop at the door and say.
Blake:"I'll be in the library."
(Y/n), Weiss, Ruby, and Yang then decide to get ready for bed. (Y/n) lies awake most of night as he just tosses and turns not being able sleep. It hurts him to see someone being so self destructive, especially Blake. He does eventually fall asleep due to pure exhaustion, granted this only lasted maybe two or three hours.
-ballroom-
Ruby and (y/n) are sitting at a table while Yang and Weiss are decorating for the dance. (Y/n) seems to be dozing off slightly prompting Ruby to ask.
Ruby:"You look like you didn't sleep well. You alright?"
(Y/n) just groggily says.
(Y/n):"I feel like I didn't sleep at all."
Ruby then asks.
Ruby:"Blake?"
(Y/n):"Yeah. I just. I know how it feels to be driven so much to accomplish something, that you don't care about your own well being."
Ruby just looks at him worryingly and says as (y/n) lays his head down on the table.
Ruby:"Well maybe you should talk to her then."
(Y/n):"What makes you think she'll listen to what I have to say?"
Ruby then says.
Ruby:"I don't know, but I do know you care about her and it's killing you to see her this way."
(Y/n):"Fine, I'll go talk to her."
(Y/n) then got up and headed to the library to find Blake.
-library-
Upon entering (y/n) sees Blake and walks toward her direction. Once he has reached the table she was sitting at he asks nervously.
(Y/n):"Hey Blake can we talk?"
Blake then says without even looking up from the computer screen.
Blake:"If its about the dance my answer is still no."
(Y/n):"Its not about the dance. It's about your own wellbeing."
Blake then sighs as she turns to face (y/n).
Blake:"Fine go ahead."
(Y/n):"Lets take this somewhere else I don't want to make a scene."
They then make their way to an empty classroom. As Blake says in an irritated tone.
Blake:"Now we're somewhere private. Say what you gotta say."
(Y/n) then takes a deep breath and says nervously.
(Y/n):"Look Blake I um. I know how you feel right now trust me."
Blake then snaps shouting.
Blake:"Apparently you don't otherwise you would be more worried about Torchwick!"
(Y/n):"Blake just trust me on this one."
Blake:"Tell me why I should!!"
(Y/n):"Blake I..."
Blake then erupts further.
Blake:"Yeah, just like I thought. You don't have a reason do you?!!??"
(Y/n) just sits there in silence as he hangs his head. Blake then continues.
Blake:"Well since you don't have anything left to say I'm gonna go then!!"
Blake then tries to leave as (y/n) grabs her arm and asks as he takes off his necklace that he then hands to her to look at.
(Y/n):"What do you think of when you hold that pendant?"
Blake then becomes irate again shouting.
Blake:"What does this have to do with...."
(Y/n) just interrupts saying.
(Y/n):"Just answer my question, please."
Blake then says simply.
Blake:"I think it's nothing more than a metal star."
(Y/n) then takes it back and begins to look at it while asking.
(Y/n):"You wanna know what I think of whenever I look at this?"
Blake just crosses her arms as she waits for his answer. (Y/n) then says.
(Y/n):"I think of my mother."
Blake looks a little intrigued as she uncrosses her arms listening as (y/n) continues.
(Y/n):"Its the only thing I have left of her. Blake how about I tell you a story about my mother?"
Blake then sits down as (y/n) continues.
(Y/n):"You see I always looked up to my mother. Me and her lived alone in a town of Meadow. My dad left when I was born and she never liked talking about him so, I became very attached to her. She was such a strong person both mentally and physically, I wanted to be just like her. I remember the first day I came home from school, I was crying as I was bullied for being a faunus. Once I got home I ran to my room, once I got there I curled into a ball and cried for a while as I couldn't understand why everyone hated me. Then I felt someone sit on my bed and scratch my ears, this caused me to look up and it was her. She looked down worried at her son who had a black eye and couldn't do nothing more than hug his mother crying. She just embraced me in a hug as she began to tear up as she kept repeating how she was so sorry. It hurt her so much to see me in pain, I didn't understand it then but she blamed herself. I guess because a parents job is to protect their child. She then told me it would be ok and I remember telling her I didn't want to go back to school. She just nodded and hugged me tighter, I then asked something that I knew shook her to the core."
(Y/n) then paused getting a little choked up as he continued.
(Y/n):"I asked why everyone hated me to which she just looked me in the eyes with her tear filled ones and said I love you son and that's all that matters you will always have me. I then realized she was just as compassionate as she was strong. After that event she worked so hard as she was trying to be able to afford for us to move."
Blake then asks.
Blake:"Why did she want to move you? Didn't you have friends there?"
(Y/n):"No, like I said my mother was the only one I had that cared. She wanted to move me because Meadow was a predominantly human populous who didn't necessarily take too kindly to Faunus. She did nothing but look out for me and I felt nothing but love from her."
Blake has noticed (y/n)'s voice become shaky as he began to tear up as he continues now holding up the necklace.
(Y/n):"She always wore this necklace and I remember when I turned seven I asked her why she wore it. She told me whenever she was off on missions when she felt uneasy, unsure, scared, or stressed she just rub the metal star and it made her calm. Then..."
Blake sees (y/n)'s tears start streaming down his face as his breathes became irregular. (Y/n) then continued.
(Y/n):"Then two months later, our home was attacked. And I was so scared, but what happened I never would wish upon anyone. I watched as she was uh.... She had been killed by a member of the white fang right before my eyes."
Blake looks shocked and feels sad for (y/n) as she is about to speak but (y/n) presses on.
(Y/n):"That's not all though."
He then points to his left eye.
(Y/n):"That same man then cut my eye out of my skull and left me for dead. The next year of my life I just slept wherever my body collapsed because of hunger. So trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel. I've been that person and it cost the life of the one who gave me this eye. I'm not asking you to stop, I'm just asking you to take a break because I..."
Blake then looks at (y/n) as he begins to blush about what he was about to say as he finishes.
(Y/n):"It hurts me to see my friends hurting themselves. So will you go to the dance?"
Blake then says.
Blake:"Who would I go with now? Everyone's probably already got someone to go with."
(Y/n) then says very nervously.
(Y/n):"You could go with me."
Blake watches as (y/n) blushes this causes her to smile and say.
Blake:"I'd love to go with you (y/n). And...."
She then hugs (y/n) tightly this causes him to slightly tear up as this felt like when his mother hugged him. She then says.
Blake:"I'm so sorry I made you relive that awful memory."
(Y/n):"Don't worry about it. Just go back to the dorm and get some sleep, please."
Blake:"Yeah I will. Thank you, (y/n)."
Blake then walks off toward the dorm (y/n) then heads back to tell Ruby, Weiss, and Yang the news.
