It's so cold....(RWBY Male insert)

Utter Hysteria

All of team RWBY got to the arena early as to be on time for when Yang and Weiss' battle. (Y/n) was literally dying on the inside he had looked forward to this tournament since the first week of school and now he can only sit by idly and watch. (Y/n) is happy however, that his team has advanced as far as they have. Now Yang and Weiss have taken center stage to battle a duo from Atlas. (Y/n) watches the battle become one sided as Weiss sacrifices herself to protect Yang. Yang then makes short work of the two after becoming very angry. (Y/n) then hops over the barrier to check on Weiss who is now covered in soot and coughing causing (y/n) to ask.
(Y/n):"Weiss, you alright?"
She then coughs and states.
Weiss:"I guess I won't be singing for awhile."
Yang then states jokingly.
Yang:"I don't think that was proper form."
Weiss then says sarcastically.
Weiss:"Oh ha ha..."
She then interrupts herself coughing. After that team RWBY watch the rest of the duo rounds as they wait for the singles round to begin. Once all the singles competitors were ready and in the arena Weiss, Blake, Ruby, and (Y/n) watch as the first battle is selected at random. The first battle is Yang vs Mercury. (Y/n) thinks back to when Mercury and Emerald fought Coco and Yatsuhashi, he distinctly remembers the anomaly he saw and decides to watch the entirety of their battle with his eye of Balor. Everything seems normal and it's actually a close battle which Yang won. Then something happens as (y/n) sees another anomaly that is trying to kick Yang that anomaly then fades away as Yang punches its leg causing her to punch Mercury's leg. (Y/n) then closes the eye of Balor as he has a completely confused face. A bunch of Atlas personnel then begin to surround Yang, they then escort her back to team RWBY's dorm. (Y/n) is deep in thought trying to comprehend what he saw it baffles him but, he realizes he can't ignore it this time. Then he is snapped from his thoughts by Yang asking him.
Yang:"(Y/n) you believe me right?"
She asks this out of desperation it seems. (Y/n) then says.
(Y/n):"Yang. I believe that whatever happened out there you had a reason for."
Yang looks a little relieved to know everyone believes her at least to an extent. The next day (Y/n) and Ruby decide to head back to the tournament to support Pyrrha just in case she gets picked. Blake and Weiss decide to go enjoy festivities that don't involve fighting. (Y/n) and Ruby then see Velvet as they are waiting for the bullhead. They both then begin to make their way over to her as she is repeatedly taking pictures. Velvet then turns around and greets the two.
Velvet:"Ruby, (Y/n) how are you?"
(Y/n) then states.
(Y/n):"Good. I still haven't thanked you and your team for saving my butt during the breach."
Velvet then waves this off saying.
Velvet:"Don't worry about it. You and your team would've done the same."
Ruby then asks.
Ruby:"Velvet, what are you up to?"
Velvet then replies.
Velvet:"Oh you know, just working on my photography. Do you wanna see?"
Ruby and (y/n) then look at her camera and sees she's been taking lots of pictures of people's weapons. Ruby then says.
Ruby:"That's better."
Velvet:"I'm sorry to hear about Yang. Is she doing okay?"
Ruby:"Yeah, she's fine, thanks."
Velvet:"I think it's just awful what people are saying about her. Yang's such a nice person."
Ruby:"Well I'm glad someone outside our team thinks so."
Velvet:"Most people don't know what it's like on the battlefield. I mean, even experienced fighters can get scared and start seeing things. If it happened to Coco, it can happen to anyone."
Ruby and (y/n) simultaneously:"Coco?"
Velvet:"Yeah she swore she saw Yatsu with her in the forest during the fight with Emerald and Mercury, but he never even made it out of the geyser fields. Stress induced hallucinations apparently."
(Y/n) then says as he begins to think.
(Y/n):"Yeah I guess."
His thoughts are immediately stopped by a snapshot from Velvets camera.
-Inside the Arena-
Once (y/n) and Ruby find a seat they immediately spot Emerald causing Ruby to say aloud.
Ruby:"Emeralds here?"
She then goes to get up but is instead pushed back into her seat by (y/n) as he says.
(Y/n):"I see her too. No doubt something is up but we need to bide our time she's not worried about us. So we're gonna stay calm and wait this out, ok?"
Ruby then gives (y/n) a nod as she sinks into her seat as the next match is selected. Which is Penny vs Pyrrha. This fight like Yang's, at first it's just a close battle until (y/n) sees a lot of anomalies as he says.
(Y/n):"No..."
He realizes there is no way to stop this leaving him to watch as Pyrrha sends Penny's swords past her. Which causes the cables attached to rip Penny into pieces. Ruby is then on the verge of tears. Then all the screens turn red with a chess piece on it as a woman's voice says.
???:"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust. Your safety. Your children. To men who claim to be our guardians. But are in reality nothing more than men. Our academies' headmasters wield more power than most armies and one was audacious enough to control both. They cling to this power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here? One nations attempt at a synthetic army, mercilessly torn apart by another's star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the grimm can tell the difference. And what I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy. Yet I have witnessed neither. Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps, this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting Kingdom with armed forces. Honestly? I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know that the existence of peace is fragile. And the leaders of our Kingdoms conduct business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you; the situation there is equally undesirable. Our kingdoms are at the brink of war. Yet we the citizens are left in the dark. So I ask you when the first shots are fired... Who do you think you can trust?"
The transmission then ends and there is a loud siren blaring the same one that was blaring when the breach occurred. A nevermore then begins to peck away at the top of the barrier protecting the arena. (Y/n) can tell the barrier is about to shatter so he opens his eye of Balor and uses his time manipulation to push Pyrrha out from under the nevermore that was about to land on top of her. Then Ruby then comes in stabbing the nevermore in the chest with one of Penny's swords. She then stands between Pyrrha and the nevermore as several lockers land in the back of the nevermore. (Y/n) and all the other hunters head to the nevermore to gather their weapons, (y/n) then says as he grabs his new sword.
(Y/n):"I guess I get to see what you can do after all."
Then Ruby calls her locker which lands on the head of the nevermore killing it. (Y/n) and the rest begin to head to a bullhead so that way they can aid in the battle below. (Y/n) realizes there is no bullhead that has enough space for all of them. He then looks to his locker and climbs into it and closes the door as he says to himself.
(Y/n):"So long as I don't land on someone I'll be fine."
He then feels the locker lift off toward his coordinates. He then lands with a sickening thud as he is slammed into the door which opens with ease. (Y/n) then tumbles out and sees Weiss fighting several Atlas bots and makes his way to her to help. Along the way he spins the cylinder on his sword which stops on electricity he then throws the sword in the middle of all the Atlas soldier behind her which then causes a huge electrical current to jump between all the bots taking them down. She then turns and says with a smile.
Weiss:"(Y/n) your ok!"
They then get back to back and fight off seemingly endless foes as they do this they keep accumulating more and more allies to aid them. At this point (y/n) and Weiss are winded and (y/n)'s whole chest, head, and left eye are in agonizing pain. They then begin to deal with two perfected Atlesean Knights however it's taking a lot of punishment and it's not budging until Coco tells Velvet.
Coco:"I guess now's a better time than any."
Velvet:"Really?"
Coco:"Just make them count."
Velvet then walks toward the Atlesean Knight causing (y/n) to say.
(Y/n):"What is she doing?! She'll get hurt."
Coco then chimes in saying.
Coco:"Just watch."
Velvet then begins to make grid weapons from all the people she took pictures of. She then begins to cause severe damage to one knight actually leading to its destruction however she is taken off guard by the second Knight punching her. It then begins to loom over her and raises its hand as (y/n) and Weiss race to stop the punch. (Y/n) realizes Weiss will get there first so he says to himself.
(Y/n):"I guess I'll protect you this one last time, cousin."
He then peels his left eye open and activates his time manipulation as he puts himself in front of Weiss to block the punch with his body. He then closes his eyes as he prepares for the worst only to feel nothing. He then opens his eyes to see an ice rib cage surrounding him and a ice skeletal arm connected to the rib cage holding the Atlesean's arm (your summon is essentially an ice susanoo). He then watches as a arm with a sword coming from a glyph slices the Atlesean in half. (Y/n) then immediately keels over clutching his chest as he spits blood, he then closes his eyes to blink but his whole body falls limp and there is nothing but darkness. The last thing he is able to hear is Weiss in a panicked and worried voice screaming.
Weiss:"(Y/n)!!!"
