The Second Witness

-three days later-
All of team VYNS excluding (y/n) is walking through the woods in silence. Sera is the one leading the group until she stops and says.
Seraphine:"I think we covered enough ground for one day. Let's set up camp for the night."
Neo and Yamato just begin to set up tents and start a little camp fire, before Yamato asks Sera.
Yamato:"We're covering a lot of ground rather quickly. Mind telling us why we're heading this direction and why we left (y/n)?"
Seraphine:"He said he would catch up and for your first question he said he'd tell us when he caught back up."
Yamato:"Are you sure he'll be able to catch up to us? Where did he go?"
Seraphine:"Mistral."
Yamato:"Why Mistral?"
Seraphine:"He told me not to tell."
Yamato:"Why should we believe that he's coming back?"
Sera and Neo looked shocked and disgusted that Yamato would even ask that. Before Sera says.
Seraphine:"He's my brother Yamato he just wouldn't tell us to go somewhere and leave us."
Yamato:"I don't see why not. I mean that's what he did to his friends, right?"
As he finishes this Neo has placed her sword to his throat before Sera says.
Seraphine:"That was different Yamato. And you know that."
Yamato seems really apologetic as he says after sighing. (Please don't hate Yamato he's not an asshole)
Yamato:"Look I'm sorry it's just... I kinda get paranoid when people leave like that."
Neo slowly lowers her blade in intrigue at his statement before Sera asks.
Seraphine:"Why does that make you paranoid?"
Yamato:"I'm just used to people leaving me like that. It started with my parents just leaving and never coming back. Every friend I ever had either died or turned on me. I like (y/n) and I trust him but it's just a harsh reality I'm used to considering."
Yamato is looking at the ground as it is obvious he feels very sad. Sera just scoots next to him and puts a hand on his shoulder before saying.
Seraphine:"You have nothing to worry about with him he'll come back I promise."
Yamato:"Ok Sera."
Seraphine:"Now lets all get some sleep."
Everyone just nods to Sera's statement and all crawl into their individual tents and drift off to sleep.
-next morning-
(Y/n) had been traversing the woods all day and night for the past several days. He actually has tried to avoid sleeping as he knows all he'd do is dream about Yang. It hurt him to leave her (not in a breaking up way) but he couldn't bring himself to take her from her sister and friends. (Y/n) then comes upon a campsite with three camping bags thus, he figures he had found his team. So, he walks into the camp to see that all three are asleep still which causes him to sigh before figuring as much as he doesn't want to he needs rest so he falls asleep propped up against a tree. (Y/n) is awoken a hour or two later due to the smell of food being cooked over the fire. He actually gets to finished eating before he is asked anything until Yamato asked.
Yamato:"Can you please tell us why we're heading this direction?"
(Y/n):"We're going to find the current winter maiden, Ymir. That way we keep either side from have all four maidens."
Yamato:"What?! How do we even know that's the current winter maiden and where they are?"
(Y/n):"Because my dad had found her after my mother's death and she told him."
Yamato:"How does Dean know her?"
(Y/n):"Because she was a member of my Mom's team at Beacon. She was also overall my mother's best friend."
Yamato:"Why did Dean send us to do this?"
(Y/n):"It wasn't exactly my Dad's plan it was mine. My dad told me that he wanted the four of us to distance ourselves as far away from the bandit tribe."
This time Sera and Yamato both said.
Seraphine and Yamato simultaneously:"What!?"
(Y/n) seems like he really doesn't want to tell this part but regardless he presses on by saying.
(Y/n):"He said that after they helped Salem with her attack on Mistral he figured they would destroy the tribe as they would be of no use to them anymore. He figured that he would look out for all of us since he hadn't been able to for me and Sera. I'm sorry I had to leave you guys out of the loop but I knew if I told you of the start you all wouldn't have gone along with this."
Sera follows up by asking getting a little choked up.
Seraphine:"You mean we left dad to die?"
(Y/n):"Sera, I..."
(Y/n) sighs as he didn't like any part of this any than she did.
(Y/n):"I didn't want to leave him behind but he was adamant so I did as he said. I'm sorry."
She then covers her mouth as she began to tear up. (Y/n) just stays quiet looking at the ground as he thought they were unhappy with him. Until Yamato asks through this tension.
Yamato:"So where exactly are we going?"
(Y/n) is surprised that everyone seems on board as he looks up to see all three them patiently waiting for his answer. He then says.
(Y/n):"Somewhere in Vacuo."
Yamato:"Vacuo? Seems like an odd choice for a winter maiden would be."
(Y/n):"That's probably exactly why she's there so I gotta ask. Are you guys in?"
Neo gets up and sits beside (y/n) as she nods with a smile. Sera then sits next to her brother as well while wiping her tears away and nodding. Yamato soon just says.
Yamato:"Well I mean I'm not going back by myself. You guys are the closest thing to family I have so yeah I'm in."
After this was said and done they began to continue their journey until night falls. That night Sera asked her brother.
Seraphine:"Hey (y/n). What is that eye power you and dad use?"
(Y/n):"It's called the eye of the Witness, why?"
Seraphine:"Well I wanted know how one attains it?"
(Y/n):"Its a bit more tricky than you would think. You have to see constant injustice through out your life for it to awaken."
Seraphine:"Oh."
Sera then gets an idea as she looks at her brother before asking.
Seraphine:"Do you think you could trigger it with your own eye?"
(Y/n):"I mean I don't know haven't really tried I guess."
Sera just sits in front of her brother as she says.
Seraphine:"Well lets give it a shot."
(Y/n) seems wary as he is aware of the capability of the eye thus, he asks.
(Y/n):"Are you sure about this?"
She just nods and takes a deep breath as (y/n) opens his eye of the witness placing her in the nightmare realm. The things he is subjecting her to is all the pain he had felt throughout his life to her it feels like six hours to (y/n) this took three minutes before the illusionary state ends due to his eye closing leaving Sera panting, sweating, and having tears coming from her eyes. However her eyes are closed, though at the time to (y/n) it didn't matter as he felt terrible for what he did by asking truly worried about his sister's well being.
(Y/n):"Sera are you ok?"
She just says through pants eyes still closed.
Seraphine:"Yeah I'm fine that was just... intense."
She looks up at her brother as her eyes open as they are both red upside down stars with black sclera and that same feral slit pupil. Her brothers face is one of complete shock as he says.
(Y/n):"Holy shit it worked."
