The mermaid whipped her head my way, she had emerald eyes and a very delicate looking tail, mix of greens and pinks, her hair was flowing down into the water, she looked frightened by my appearance. The mermaid swam towards me gracefully and rested her arms by my feet, she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at me.
"I'm sorry, I just came here to explore, I will be on my way" I said and started to turn away until she latched her fingers around my ankle
"I heard you are Queen, please take me away from here, for only you have the power to" she said and looked at me, full of sorrow
"Why would you want to leave here?" I asked her
"It's so lonely here, the dryads here only care about their trees, and I just want the freedom of the open waters" she said quietly and looks down at the lake
I grumbled and crossed my arms, me helping out a mermaid..how strange, I'll grant her what she wants, temporarily.
"I will let you out of the forest, for a week, but then you shall come back, for here is where you belong and destined to be, you're a lake mermaid after all" I said sternly, I waved a hand over her, then suddenly a bright flash around the forest appeared, and a barrier like glow dissolved around the mermaid.
"Thank you, my name is Ebb, by the way" she said delightedly
I nodded as she got out of the water, her tail dissolving into legs, she began to stand up but failed as she stumbled into my arms, she blushed profusely and let go, but almost fell down once again if I had not caught her arm.
I just want to see Persephone again...
