jam had many weird habits, and one of them was to see how chubby her friends' cheeks were.

"squishy cheeks!" jam yelled as she pulled qq's cheeks, "chibi!"

"well, i am called 'chibiriceball' for a reason," she muttered as her cheeks were pulled like a child's.

"zan is also a chibi," sawamura said and pinched his girlfriend's cheeks as proof.

"don't drag me into this, daichi," zan said as she swatted his hand away.

"she's not as chibi as qq," jam said as she poked zan's other cheek, earning a glare from her.

as zan began to grumble again, jam spotted her next victim, waving goodbye to a friend. a devil of a smirk tugged at her lips as she headed towards her.

"makoto!" she lilted as she latched herself onto his arm.

"oh, hey jam," he said with a smile, "what's up?"

she grinned and her hands flew upwards, pinching his cheeks. unfortunately, there were not much baby fats left after what swimming had done to him, as well as puberty. her smile turned upside down as she let go.

"you're no fun," she pouted, "you don't have squishy cheeks."

a crease formed on the brunette's head as he said, "um... okay?"

suddenly, her brows quirked up, as though she remembered something. she gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

"by the way, happy birthday," jam said, "wait, shit, how do you say that in japanese?"

"'otanjobi omedeto' is one way to say it, but that's formal," makoto answered, "and 'tanjobi omedeto' is the casual way of saying it."

"tanjobi omedeto," she said, the words rolling off her tongue as took her time with pronouncing them.

"yeah, that's it," he said with a chuckle, "and arigatou."
