The Sanctuary Part 2

She looks up at Negan and he stares down at her nodding.

"do you understand what I want you to do?"

She nods her head and Negan lowers his bat. He motions off to the woods.

"leave, go home to Mason."

The girl gets up and Negan watches her walk away into the woods. She slips on her mask and hears a voice.

"so you didn't die?"

She turns back eyeing the man wearing walker skin and watches him slip it off revealing himself to be Konnor. Konnor grins motioning to the woods.

"what did Negan say?"

The girl turns to Konnor, takes off her mask and stares him down as she answers.

"he said Mason killed my sister."

Konnor remains quiet and the girl walks up to him asking.

"is it true?"

Konnor breaks eye contact and shakes his head.

"Mason doesn't murder people, he wouldn't lie."

The girl glances around the woods and Konnor steps towards her.

"Alyssa."

She glances back to Konnor and nods her head.

"I'm sorry, about your head."

Konnor turns his head sideways and stares her down.

"you were the one who hit me from behind that day?"

She grins and places back on her walker mask and nods her head.

"you were crazy."

He smiles placing his mask on as he comments.

"i still am"

They walk slowly through the woods but Konnor grabs her pulling her down as he whispers.

"i hear it, the movement. it always starts this way."

Alyssa stays crouched down and whispers asking.

"what starts this way?"

Konnor turns to her whispering.

"death."

They stay still watching the horde slowly progress around them and Konnor grips onto Alyssa as he whispers.

"don't move."

The horde advances around them slowly and Alyssa glances around as Konnor pulls her down into the dirt whispering.

"don't move."

A walker stops by Konnor and Alyssa and Konnor stays still whispering to himself.

'no lungs, no air, no breath."

Alyssa closes her eyes as she hears Konnor and remains quiet holding her breath as the walker stands next to Konnor and slowly moves by them. Konnor taps her and points forward whispering.

"slowly, crawl forward in a ten count and stop."

She crawls forward and counts to himself and stops eyeing the walkers around them and closes her eyes again hearing the walkers around her. She feels a tap on her back and opens her eyes as Konnor nods to her motioning forward. Alyssa watches as Konnor moves forward but sees him stop and she eye's the walker come up to him. she stops as the walker goes to lunge for Konnor he quickly moves up shoving a knife into its jaw and allows the walker to fall on him. Alyssa moves forward and hears Konnor whisper from under the walker.
