The walking dead Fanfic: The Estate

The Reids Part One

Senator Reid sits in the infirmary staring at a wall and hears voices outside. He glances out the door and overhears Daryl and rick. Daryl speaks loudly and Senator Reid hears his voice.

"We barely made it out of there, there is no way Aston is alive. Lewis, he just, just destroyed the place, everything is gone, the estate is gone, the people are gone, we don't have any more allies out there"

Rick stands still thinking to himself as he nods his head.

"We call on maggie and the king it is all we got now. the estate had supplies, and people"

Daryl whispers remaining quiet as he stares down rick.

"rick, you saw what they did, what that army did to the estate, what Lewis did to it. that lewis guy, he was second in charge, if he is bad, no way we can trust mason."

Senator reid stays by the doorway hearing rick state firmly.

"we need to find out where they are set up, they called themselves, the patriots."

Senator reid backs away from the door and looks to his right eyeing the radio and quickly moves to it sliding it in his pocket. He waits hearing the door open and pretends to sort through medical supplies as Rick stands behind him staring him down as he yells to senator reid.

"where's your son?"

Senator reid stops and asks rick without turning.

"Which one?"

Rick grabs senator Reid by the neck and slams him down as michonne,  and daryl look on and rick demands.

"you know which one!"

Senator reid stares forward as he asks back to rick mocking the man.

"and your boy, rick. where's he at?"

RIck throws senator reid back and he lands on the ground as he laughs staring up at rick.

"as i hear my Aston, my boy is dead, is he?"

Rick stops and Senator Reid stares back at him as he states firmly.

"i made mistakes Mr. Grimes, but one thing I'd never do is sell my boys out. no matter how crocked my boy has turned, he's my boy"

Daryl comes up behind him as he stares him down.

"your boy? your boy do that to your face?"

Senator Reid grips his face feeling the scars as he shakes his head.

"my mason? of course not he's a gentle boy."

Daryl shakes his head disagreeing.

"Nah wasn't anything gentle about what we saw at that estate. hundreds of walkers, whisperers, then the tanks."

Senator reid shakes his head disagreeing.

"your mistaken, my boy doesn't run that group. I can't say I know who does, but I would surely not make them angry. You all are good people, the Patriots don't bother good people."

Daryl kicks senator reid in the back as he yells.

"You seem so sure about that!"

Senator reid grips his back feeling the pain rush through it as he states.

"i am sure of a lot of things. the patriots they are men of honor, respect, loyalty to this country, to what it was before"

rick stares down senator reid as reid looks to the ground and thinks of his sons and rick speaks firmly.

"where can we find them?"

Senator reid shakes his head disagreeing with rick.

"oh no Mr. Grimes, you don't find them, they,  find you."

 A loud bang sounds off and screaming erupts from people outside. Rick hears Michonne scream out and walks outside eyeing everyone standing around. He walks towards the gate and eyes the blast through the gate and stops seeing a few men walkthrough with guns drawn. Lewis steps out between the men and stares down rick and his group as he nods towards rick and yells out.

"find him...."

the men go to step forward and lewis motions to rick.

"don't get involved, we will be on our way very soon."

Michonne grips her katana staring down the small army and Lewis grins smugly at the woman as he mocks her.

"blade can't cut our bullets, miss..."

she takes her blade out and states coldly looking at lewis.

"but it can cut you..."

Senator reid walks out surrounded by men as they push him forward. Lewis stares him down and turns back to rick as he nods and motions to the hole.

"we'll fix it and guard it till its done. we don't want trouble where we don't need trouble"

Lewis motions to the hole.

"Senator..."

Senator Reid stares down Lewis as he states.

"what would your father say boy if he saw you now?"

Lewis remains quiet and Senator Reid smiles wide as he walks by him and whispers in his ear.

"what would he say?"

Senator reid is pushed forward as he motions back to rick.

"Mr. Grimes I am sorry to leave so soon, but ill be sure to stop by"

Lewis interrupts him.

"no, you won't."

The guards move as lewis motions to them and he steps back disappearing into a crowd of people. Rick yells to lewis and makes him stop as he asks.

"where's my son?"

Lewis stares at the hole in the wall and comments as he steps through it.

"don't you worry he will be home real soon"

He disappears and rick attempts to run after them but is stopped as he eyes the large tanks and army standing outside. He steps back and hears Michonne whisper.

"He has an army..."
