Mason sits in a chair staring out at the lawn and hears a voice behind him.
"alpha, she expects the agreement to be upheld..."
The whisperer stands a few feet behind Mason as Mason keeps his feet up remaining quiet and stares out at the lawn as he comments.
"ill need some of the children."
Mason glances back to the whisperer and the whisperer remains quiet. The whisperer asks unsure of what mason is talking about.
"what children?"
Mason keeps staring out the window as he comments.
"it was a long winter, the woods are cold, aren't they? I offer shelter, food, supplies in exchange i want what is mine returned to me. the children of the estate escaped into the woods, alpha's woods, i know they are in the camps."
The whisperer steps back as mason gets to his feet and fixes his jacket. he leans against the wall and stares out at the almost melted snow.
"still have a month, or two of this left. I am sure you all want a safe place, a warm place, all i ask is my kids come home. its a fair trade. ill give you all shelter, food, water, and in exchange i get my children.."
Mason stares out the window eyeing the dead grass and turns back to the whisperer stating.
"a fair trade."
The whisperer shakes his head disagreeing with Mason.
"i can't promise the trade only alpha can and what of her children miya, konnor and lydia..."
Mason steps forward causing the whisperer to step back as Mason stops in front of him taunting the man.
"what of them? Konnor chose his place and lydia is left to her own choice and i assume that won't be going back to alpha."
The man thinks to himself and asks.
"and miya?"
Mason thinks to himself and lies to the man.
"i haven't heard from her in days last she was with a whisperer camp to the south."
Presley walks in the room and stands at the door as Mason motions to her.
"come in."
She walks up beside mason and mason motions to her.
"my new general all negations are approved by her and through her. he word is as good as mine"
The whisperer looks over presley and asks unsure.
"a woman?"
presley states coldly.
"do you have a fucking problem with that?"
She steps forward but mason places his hand on her shoulder as he grins smugly.
"very much like her husband, Konnor.."
The man stares down Presley and nods his head quickly understanding why mason chose her.
"konnor's wife? Interesting choice, smart choice..."
Mason nods his head to the man as he laughs out and smugly replies.
"I don't make stupid choices."
The whisperer nods his head agreeing as he places out his hand showing respect, but mason motions to presley as he demands.
"shake his hand."
She stares it down and the man remains still as she reaches out shaking his hand. The man glances her over and asks mason unsure.
"what about our trading agreement, the..."
He stops himself looking over presley and mason sits back into a chair as he comments.
"she is my general i won't hide it from her."
The man nods his head understanding as he firmly states.
"i assume the same deal applies for every 5 people one case of food...."
Mason comments staring down the man.
"for every 3 woman of child baring age 2 cases of food"
The whisperer comments staring down mason.
"very generous."
Mason motions around the room as he comments.
"less mouths to feed more food to go around. we are rebuilding so we will be far more generous as you help us. my general will be in charge of keeping the books clear..."
Presley remains quiet and mason grabs a book off his desk and holds it out to Presley as he motions to it.
"every name, age, past occupations, siblings and last known locations of those siblings."
Mason motions to the book as he comments staring it over.
"this is the foundation of the estate, the people who make up our society.:
He holds out the book to presley as he asks her.
"can you handle this?"
Presley stares down the book unsure of what mason is asking.
"what exactly do i have to do"
Mason motions to the man in the room.
"He will bring people, you pick those people up, mark them in the book.."
Presley eyes the book and mason comments.
"then you take them where we take everyone we save."
Mason motions for the man to leave and he nods his head leaving as he watches the door shut behind the man. Presley stares down at the book and thinks to herself and looks back up to mason asking.
"where do i take them?"
Presley waits for a reply and mason motions back to her commenting.
"page five."
She opens the small diary and eyes the small map with a circle on it and eyes the wording on the map as she asks.
"TSH?"
Mason turns away from presley frowning as he looks out at the snow that had begun falling and comments.
"don't you worry about that all your job is presley is to deliver those people to that location. our people there are in charge of dealing with the rest."
Presley looks down at the map and Mason comments.
"lewis never asked questions but he got it and knew what happened there. i assume you read his full letter so you know some of it."
Mason sighs to himself and looks out the window taking in the sight of the snow falling down hard. He remains quiet thinking of TSH and comments as he looks back to presley.
"TSH is the way it goes."
He stops himself and laughs as if remembering something and presses his hand on the large scar on his arm. Mason sighs to himself and recites some words as if remembering an old nursery rhyme.
"but, never, ever, ever, step on their toes because if you do."
Mason glances back as if warning Presley.
"then away you go."
Presley remains quiet taking in the words of the creepy song and mason comments.
"kids there sing it a lot its a warning presley do not ask too many questions. you do your job and deliver what you do and then you get right back in your car and you drive away"
