The walking dead Fanfic: The Estate

TSH Part 2

Nate sits in a large living room surrounded by a bunch of kids watching an old movie play on the large screen, but hears a door open and close. He looks back and carter walks out nodding to him. Nate gives a loud laugh and motions to the tv as he nods to the children.

"you all don't stay up too late now. only one more movie then we turn it off. conserving our energy is important."

Nate stretches out letting his back crack and slowly cracks his neck as he fixes his cap and turns back to carter who nods to him. He steps over a few kids asleep under blankets set up on the floor and walks towards carter. Carter stares over Nate and motions to the door lowering his voice so the kids don't hear.

"its time."

Nate glances back to the kids and carter whispers as he stares over the kids as well.

"we all have our jobs"

Nate again fixes his hat as he thinks to himself and cocks his head back looking at carter.

"yes we do carter and i must say."

he fixes carter's shirt as he comments.

"yes we do."

He gives carter a hard pat on his shoulder and whistles as he walks out the front door. Carter follows behind him and yells out.

"Nathan!"

Nathan stops as he turns back to carter and carter looks him over as he comments.

"we, we could stop it."

Nate fixes his cap again as he stares down carter. He walks up to him and locks eyes with the older man as he stares him over and teases him.

"could we now?

Carter stares off to the right thinking about something as he hears the TV from outside and Nate comments.

"its a day early, but movie nights are the nights. you know the noise drowns out the screams and we can't waste time."

Nate turns his wrist eyeing the expensive watch as he comments.

"about an hour left."

Carter stares down Nate and Nate motions to the house.

"go keep them company and ill do the hard work. we all earn our food, i know my job, and you, you better not forget yours."

Nate begins whistling as he walks up to a large barn. He stops pulling the door open a bit, but then slides it shut behind him. He hears the screams as someone yells to the crowd.

"shut the fuck up!"

He eyes one of his men smack a man in the face with his gun and lets out a loud whistle. his men turn back and one of them nods to him.

"about fucking time! done playing with the kids? can we get this shit done?"

Nathan stands still watching one of his men kick a man in the chest and the man falls over. He fixes his hat again and stares down the crowd of people. He motions to one of his men and his man moves aside lining up with the others. Nathan takes off his baseball cap and stare at the crowd of people as he begins his speech.

"we are freedom, we are normalcy, we are you chance for a better future, for your kids future. we accept children into our community, we train them, we make them strong, and we keep them alive."

Nate places back on his hat and stares down the people in front of him.

"you heard the tales of an estate, a place that is safe for everyone. we asks for it, they provide sanctuary, but sanctuary isn't free. resources are important for the future, so you will be welcomed into the estate if you provide us with resources."
