The Patriots War Part Five

Tess drives up slowly to the gates of Alexandria and stops the car eyeing the people pointing guns at her. She gets out slowly raising her hands and smiles kindly but plays dumb.

"I'm...I'm passing through..."

"are you?" Negan walks out carrying his bat and Tess feels her body shake a bit as Negan asks unsure.

"Tess, is it?"

She speaks unsure of her words feeling her nerves kick in as she realizes something.

"Negan?"

Negan turns his head and asks staring over Tess.

"So where is the old ball and chain, Nathan?"

"dead.." Tess answers sounding a bit sad.

"dead?" Negan lets out a laugh and glances her over.

"So now you're free?"

Tess nods her head and keeps her eyes on Negan.

"I guess you could say that..."

"and you're looking for what, help?"

Tess comments staring down Negan as she whispers.

"sanctuary..."

Fiona blinks opening her eyes and feels the stinging in her hand but glances around eyeing a wrapped stump and hears talking.

"Myron said to keep an eye on her."

She shifts hearing the voice raise and recognizes it.

"she isn't going anywhere. she has an infection and may very well turn. if you don't mind get out of my way."

The door opens and Fiona sits up afraid and looks over the man wrapped in a dirty white jacket and glances to his face and the man nods.

"Hello dear."

She stays quiet processing who she sees and doesn't speak as the man moves and she eyes his face and asks unsure.

"Senator Reid?"

"That was a long time ago." The senator speaks firmly and stares down Fiona as he walks over and motions to her wrapped stump.

"I need to check it."

He begins unwrapping her wound and she asks.

"I thought you were dead?"

"really? Did Lewis not tell you?"

"lewis is dead." Fiona states coldly and senator Reid glances up worriedly looking over Fiona.

"dead?" 

Senator Reid quiets down staring over her healing wound but notices the growing infection as he whispers.

"Mason must have taken that hard."

"he killed him." Fiona states coldly and senator Reid quiets himself down again thinking over her words.

Fiona flinches feeling the pain and Senator Reid asks outright.

"How are you though?"

"in pain-"

"no, mentally. you lost your brother and daughter in a few days. how are you mentally?"

Fiona thinks over the senator's words and he begins talking softly to Fiona.

"my son is rash Fiona I am sure he left you there for a good reason."
