Epilogue

It's been 13 years...13 years and I've successfully lived my dreams.

I have what I've been wanting ever since Brandon died. I have a family. Not a broken one, but one that makes me feel happy. I have a job, that makes me feel amazing. I have the love my life, who makes me feel like I'm walking on water.

"Chipmunk?" I'm knocked out of my daze.

"Hm?" I respond still looking through the window.

"She won't go to sleep, says she wants you." I felt two arms wrap themselves around me.

"Okay." I broke away from his embrace. Quickly giving Jax a kiss on the cheek then going upstairs.

"Mommy is that you?" I smiled hearing my angels voice.

"Yeah Andy, it's me." I responded quietly. As I made it to the side of her bed she sat up. "Sweetie what's wrong? Why won't you go to sleep?"

"I'm not tired." I chuckled.

This little six-year-old bundle of joy is one of the many reasons I love my life.

"Andy?" I asked as I smoothed her hair away from her face.

"Yes?" She turned to face me as she turned on her side.

"Does you not wanting to sleep have something to do with the fact that it's dark outside, and all the lights are off?"

There was a moment of silence.

"...Maybe." I chuckled.

"Wait right here I'll be right back. Okay?" I stood up.

"No, mommy don't leave me!" She held onto my hand, her little fingers wrapping around me.

"I'll be right back, I promise." I held out my pinky.

She stared at my pinky for a moment.

"Okay." With that she shook my pinky with hers and freed me.

I walked out of her room and into Jax and I's. I grabbed what I needed then went back to her.

"See this?" I asked sitting next to her on the bed.

"What is it?" She asked curiously.

"It's a nightlight, it's going to keep all the darkness away." I plugged it into the wall. The plastic crescent moon light up to a light yellow color.

"Really?" I nodded my head.

"Yeah, your brother used it when he was your age. Now you get to use it." I smiled.

"Okay. Goodnight mommy." She laid back down and I chuckled at her adorable self.

"Goodnight Andy." I leaned down to give her a quick kiss then walked out of her room.

I walked into the next room.

"Adam I know you're not asleep." I walked over to my seven-year-olds bed.

"Mama, I want to watch tv." He groaned.

"You can tomorrow, go to sleep silly." I tucked him in.
