Emilia

Night time rolled over quickly and before I knew it, Sunday was gone and Monday arrived. I sleepily brushed my teeth, accidently running my hand under it and splashing the water everywhere. I was so tired and out of it I couldn't even think properly. So I had to change my clothes and pack my bag again, which seemed like a struggle because I forgot what subjects I had today. Everything today just felt long and stretched out, but then my mother called me.

'Emilia, Billy's here!'

I forgot, Billy said he was going to pick me up this morning. And last night I kept over thinking about it before I went to bed, it's weird how it's making me nervous, but it's just a simple drive to school. That's what I reminded myself as I packed up the rest of my bag and headed down stairs.

My mother was busy talking to Billy at our kitchen table, offering him breakfast but him declining politely because he already 'ate' but I know his type of breakfast is a peice of toast and a smoke of his  cigrattete. I didn't sit down at the table because I knew there wouldn't be a point, I wanted to leave as soon as possible.

'Hi Billy' I say as I lean against the kitchen door frame, Billy's eyes brighten when he sees me standing with my arms crossed.

'Hey' he says smoothly, and my cheeks gush red when he sends me a wink. I quickly kiss my mother on the cheek before bidding my goodbyes.

'I'll see you after school' I say and before she can try to stop me, I run across the table and grip Billy's wrist and drag him behind me to the front door.

'Someone's in a hurry' Billy says with a laugh as we head down the driveway to his Camaro.

'I'm just eager to get to school' I lie as we get into his car, he warms it up and turns on his music to full blast before leaving our street and speeding to school.

A smoke dangled from his mouth as he sang along to some of the songs, meanwhile I just leaned my head on my hand while looking outside of the window, grasping all the familiar trees and houses that came in view. It was so strange seeing them in Billy's car, they zoomed past so fast and smudged like paint, while in Jonothan's car, I could catch every detail on them.

During my day dream, I feel Billy's hand slip onto my thigh and he squeezes it.

'What're you thinking about baby?' Billy questions, pulling me out of my day dream and back into reality. I let out a heavy sigh before scrambling to find an answer.

'I don't know, everything I guess' I sigh out tiredly, causing Billy to turn to me with a sympathetic smile on his face.

'You tired?' Billy asks while his hand comes off of my thigh and strokes my cheek.

'Little bit' I mumble.

'Well, let's just get through this day first and then if you want, I can dump Max at the arcade and come over and sleep with you' Billy suggests with a cheeky smile on his face, and I let out a chuckle before swatting his thigh.

'Not as in to fück, just to like nap or whatever... although I would like the first option very much' Billy starts to laugh loudly at his own joke and I just sarcastically laugh and place my hand on his in the middle. I interlock our fingers and give his hand a soft squeeze.

'I'd like that very much' I say with a coy smile on my face as he continued to drive.

We drove the rest of the ten minutes with the music filling the car and our hands entwined. I let the wind flow through the window and gush through my hair, with my eyes shut tight and the sound of Billy's soft humming by my side. It was pure bliss to me, and I just couldn't wait until we got some alone time. Before I knew it, Billy was speeding into the school parking lot, and parking in his usual spot.

This is when my breath hitched and my heart started to race, the other students outside were starting to peer into the car and I shrugged into my seat, my bag squeezed in my arms and my eyes wide. Billy reached over and touched me, causing me to snap my head at him.

'Is everything alright?' He questions with a concerned look on his face, and I just inhale heavily before nodding vigorously.

'Do you still hate me?' Billy sighs out, and I give him a confused look.

'What?' I question.

'The other day you said you hated me, I just thought you still felt that way, I'm sorry it's just been playing on my mind since you said it and I-' Billy rants nervously and before he could start to have a meltdown, I push my lips into his and begin to kiss him. He responds instantly and kisses back, but I kept it short and sweet and pulled away.

'I don't hate you, and remember we started a new' I comfort him, and I see a content smile on his face before he nods and opens his car door.

'Let's go princess' Billy says, and I let out a shaky breath before opening my car door and stepping out. The cold air brushed past my face, causing my cheeks to grow cold, and me to tighten my jacket, but the sun was starting to peek out from behind the clouds and I was glad.

Unsure of what Billy's plans were, I slung my bag on my back and moved to start walking to the school building, maybe to meet up with Nancy or Jonothan if they were here, or maybe go over to the middle school to check if Dustin was at school, but before I could even leave the parking lot, I feel the familiar warm hand slip into mine and his laugh erupt from beside me.

'Jesus Emilia, wait for me' Billy laughs as we walk hand in hand to the main building, envious eyes watching us as we did, and honestly I couldn't hold back to the smile on my face.

Billy is mine, and now everyone would know that.
