Emilia

I swear I was sweating as Jordan parked up his motorbike in his driveway while I waited for it to stop and hop off. I was a bundle of nerves and I was trying to calm my breathing down, so many thoughts raced through my head as to what could possibly go wrong tonight, and the main one was whether his parents thought I was a good influence on him. I mean Jordan is fit, he's into sport and seems like he'd be a football player when he leaves school, so maybe they don't want me to distract him from that.

'Hey, don't be nervous, they're going to love you' Jordan says as he rubs my arm reassuringly and I let out a shaky breath as I nod. I follow after him as he walks up to the front porch, and he gives me a smile before pushing the door open.

As soon as we enter his home I notice some brown boxes sitting around, some were opened and some were still sealed shut. They had already put some of their family pictures on the walls, and I smile fondly at the images of Jordan and his parents, and then a few pictures of a little girl.

'Is the girl in the picture your sister?' I question lowly as he allows me to look at his family photos and he lets out a groan.

'Yeah, she's a pain in the ass, she'll ask millions of questions but just try to ignore her' Jordan says and I let out a laugh. We spend a few minutes just looking at the photos, it helped me stall for a little bit and calmed me down, but eventually we left the front door area and I followed behind Jordan who led me to the kitchen.

It was vibrant, music was playing lowly as his mum pulled things out of the cupboards while his sister helped set up the table. They were laughing about something and I swear good genes ran in their family, and I could see where Jordan got his charming looks from.

'Hey mama' Jordan says as he goes into the kitchen and pecks her cheek, and I smile at how sweet that looked.

'My baby is home, and brought over-' His mum says as she pauses to peer from the kitchen and I see her eyes light up.

'A girl! Thank god, I was worried he was going to bring over some rowdy boys- what's your name honey?' Jordan's mum questions, and I find comfort in the fact that she has a wide smile on her face.

'I'm Emilia Reeves, I hope you don't mind me staying around for a little bit' I say as Jordan hauls some of the plates over to the dinner table, and I help him set up alongside his eight year old sister.

'Of course we don't mind, I'm glad Jordan brought you over' His mum says before she busied herself in the kitchen, this gave Jordan's sister a chance to talk to me.

'I like your name Emilia, I'm Alicia' She says followed by a smile and I smile as I see the resemblance between her and Jordan.

'Well I like the name Alicia, it sounds very pretty' I compliment.

'My brother is annoying, is he annoying to you?' She questions, lowering her voice into a whisper to try to be discreet, but Jordan hears her and rolls his eyes.

'You can talk Alicia' He says as he places a plate down beside her, and she pokes her tongue out at him but still waits for an answer.

'He's not, he's actually very chill' I say and Jordan pokes his tongue out at his sister who glares at him from across the table.
