Btw I want to give a shout out to HoldMyHoops for giving inspiration for the poem in this chapter, I used some lines from her cool poem :))
Emilia
Jordan stood at the end of my bed with his hands tucked into his hoodies pockets as he took a few breathers. I sat awkwardly on my bed as I awaited for him to sit down or something, maybe say another word. But he just looked around my room as he paused.
'I wanted to talk about what I said, and I mean it with full intentions when I say-' Jordan starts but as soon as he does, my mum calls out from downstairs, causing Jordan to exhale heavily and me to groan before I apologize to him.
'Yeah?' I call back.
'Ask Jordan if he wants some food' She says back and I look at Jordan, he gives me a smile as he shakes his head and declines politely.
'He's fine mum' I call back and she responds with an 'ok' before I blow out air and turn back to Jordan who's decided to sit down on the foot of my bed.
'You wanna continue?' I say and he nods before carrying on.
'I've known for awhile now, like a few months ago that I-' Jordan says but yet again gets cut off by my mum calling out.
'Emilia, Billy's coming up' my mum calls out, usually she just sends him up to my room without giving me a heads up, but since Jordan is over, she thought it would be best to tell me.
'Oh' Jordan sighs as Billy pushes the door open, he greets Jordan with a nod as he comes over to my bed and plops down beside me. He props himself up on my pillows as he stares at the two of us.
'So ladies, what are we gossiping about today?' Billy teases, causing me to roll my eyes and Jordan to tense up.
'Nothing important, just working on our poetry' Jordan lies, and Billy gives him a suspecting look.
'Couldn't have done that over the phone?' Billy snaps, sounding more rude than sassy, this causes me to shove his shoulder and him to give me an innocent look.
'Thought I'd pop in to see Em, but I better go now, it's getting late' Jordan says as he gets up off of my bed, and I roll off of it.
'Hey what about our talk?' I question and Jordan gives me a warm smile as he shrugs.
'Tomorrow in English, it's a surprise' He says, his tone lightening as he engulfs me in a hug, and I laugh into his shoulder as he gives me a tight squeeze.
'Tomorrow in English, got it' I say.
'He's getting too comfortable, and he's getting the wrong message' Billy says once Jordan leaves, and I collapse onto my bed as I try to process everything. I know what he wants to talk about, but I don't think I wanna talk about it. It's right to, but I'm afraid if he does reveal he has feelings for me, I'd break his heart by turning him down, the last thing I wanted was for him to get upset with me.
'Remind me why you're over again Billy?' I question as I face him, causing him to snicker.
'To save you, saw Jordan going into your house, thought I'd rescue you from his confessions' Billy states and I sigh heavily as I re-think about Jordan and his words, I'm praying his surprise in English tomorrow isn't related to a poem written about me.
________
I had thought of ways of how to get out of English but unfortunately I couldn't avoid it, I had to drag myself to class last period. Jordan had been absent this morning, he didn't meet me in the morning like we usually do, and I missed him at lunch, but surprisingly I found him sitting next to the girl he was paired up with yesterday.
