He ignored me for a week, after our argument he just didn't bother to try to consult with me, he just dropped the topic and gave me the cold shoulder, and I didn't try to argue with him about it. In fact, it gave me more freedom, I caught rides with Jonothan, and took the opportunity to hang out with Steve past 8.30, and it just felt like I wasn't constantly being monitored.

But of course I had to deal with the glances from him everytime I was in my driveway, and at school I'd see him in the hallways talking to Ethan, but he'd just stare at me for a few seconds before he turned away. Overall it was just a whirlwind of emotions, and I was glad he was giving me space.

It's currently Thursday and I'm talking to Dustin on the phone about some new game at the arcade he wanted me to try out. At first I was a bit apprehensive, I was pretty tired from school and had a shit ton of homework to do, but he sounded desperate, so I agreed and told him I'd meet him at his house. I grabbed my jacket from the desk and slung it on my body, then I jogged downstairs to the front door, only to be stopped by my mother's voice.

'Honey, where are you going?' She calls out from the living room, and I hesitate before I respond.

'I'm going to Dustin's...' I trail off as I wait for a respond, and I hear her rush from her seat before she runs over to me, she has a coy smile on her face as she approaches me, and I give her a confused look.

'It's your birthday next week..' She says as she trails off, and she has wide smile on her face as she says this, and I rest my hand on her shoulder.

'Yeah...' I say and she nods slowly as she tries to hint to me as to what she's implying, but I stay confused as she nods.

'You're turning seventeen!' She exclaims loudly and I shrug.

'So...' I trail off again, and she rolls her eyes at me before throwing her arms in the air.

'Which means you have a boyfriend!' She says enthusiastically and I brush my hand through my hair as I shake my head at her. She was acting so random and bringing up the most irrelevant subjects, and linking it with something off topic.

'That doesn't mean I have one Mum-' I say defensively as I turn to the door and pull it open, revealing no other than Billy who looks like he's ready to knock on the door. I pause as I look at him and he opens his mouth to say something, but he closes it again as I just stare at him with a frown on my face.

'Billy! How nice to see you again' My mother greets him as she shoves me a little to move closer to him, and I turn around and give her a look before turning back around. He gives me a small smile before he looks at my mother.

'Hi Mrs.Reeves, finally caught her on time huh?' Billy says to my mother, and I give the both of them a confused look before Billy coughs as the silence lingers, and opens his mouth to talk.

'May I borrow her for a few minutes?' Billy asks politely, and my mother who's completely drawn by Billy's charm, nods rapidly before she grasps ahold of my arm and squeezes tightly before basically pushing me out of the house with Billy. He moves back and leans on the railing of the front porch, before he starts to talk.

'I showed up here everyday at 7.30 and you weren't around' Billy states as I move beside him and keep my distance as we talk, I didn't want him to think I was alright with his outbursts, and that I forgave him for being so rude to me.

'You want a medal?' I sigh out causing him to glance at me with a neutral look on his face, and I feel the silence grow stiff at the lack of conversation, we were both thinking about what to start on, but we were both stubborn, and neither of us wanted to talk about it first.

'Your mother answered the door everytime I showed up, so she figured that she'd help me out this time and stall you until I was on the front door step' Billy sighs out and my mouth opens as I realize why she was talking all that nonsense inside, she was helping Billy purely because she had a liking to him. Because according to her, he was the little blonde angel next door.

Plus she was probably starting to question if I was ever going to get a boyfriend, she always thought Steve and I would evolve into something more than friends, but clearly that didn't happen. So now I'm figuring she's starting to put two to two, and realize I finally had a boyfriend, and it was Billy.

'So you didn't think to approach me at school? Or any other time instead of 7.30 pm at my house?' I question and he raises his eyebrows in agreement with my statement, but he shakes his head anyway.

'You seemed busy' Billy says and I sigh heavily before the silence fills the air again, but Billy cuts the ice before it could linger.

'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lash out on you the other day in the car, it's just...I was having a shit day because of my dad and you were just pressuring me into going to prom, but I shouldn't have acted like a dick' Billy apologizes as he turns to face me, and his eyes watch my face intently as I nod slowly.

I shouldn't have been selfish, Billy didn't want to go to prom and he had made that clear, but I wanted to pressure him into coming with me because I wanted him to be there, not because I thought he'd enjoy it, but because I wanted him to make me happy, so I could enjoy my night. Not only that, but he was still having problems with his dad, and instead of trying to help him, I was just making him stress out.

'I'm sorry, for being oblivious and pushy, I should've thought about that before I tried pressuring you into it, we'll just drop the prom topic okay?' I question and Billy nods at me, I give him a reassuring smile as his eyes linger on me, then a smile is placed on his lips. He sighs before he moves closer to me, closing the space while his arms wrap themselves around my waist.

He pulls my face toward his, and he places his lips against mine, slowly and softly, he kisses me with little force, only his hands that gripped my waist as we connected, occasionally squeezing my sides as the kiss got heated.

'Are you coming over tonight?' I question when he pulls away, but I watch as he hesitates and scratches the back of his neck.

'Actually I'm going to this party, gotta make an appearance you know, being the king of Hawkins high' Billy says smugly and I roll my eyes at his cocky demeanor, not long ago that title belonged to Steve, but weirdly it fit Billy more than Steve, only because Steve is a softie, Billy is basically hard all over and his soft spot is hard to find.

I press my hands against his chest as I reach up and place a peck on his cheek, he hums in satisfaction before I pull away and look at him.

'Don't do anything stupid' I warn him and he nods before quickly kissing me on the lips and pulling me in for a hug.

'I won't, I promise'
