2 months later

'Will you tell me what happened?' I question lowly at Billy, who just sits in the drivers seat with his fingers tapping on the wheel, while his eyes avoided my gaze. He didn't explain why he had a strong purple bruise on his cheek, and he was persistent on not letting me know how it got there, but I knew he was hiding something. His silence causes me to sigh heavily before I brush my hand through my hair.

'Was it your dad again?' I ask, causing Billy to snap his head at me and give me a hard glare.

'I told you he stopped that weeks ago, will you just leave it' He growls, the agitation clear on his face as I pressure him into answering. I push back into my seat and lean my head on my hand while Billy starts up the car. He speeds out of the street and cranks up his music, so loud it made my ear drums ache. I know this was his way of telling me to shut up, so I decided I'd stay silent for the car ride.

Two months ago, the night we were at the Byers house, everything turned out fine. Eleven closed the gate, Will was finally rid of that thing inside of him, and Max and the boys were safe, life was well on its way of going back to normal. But the tension between Billy and Steve just grew, the more days I spent time with Steve, the more days Billy's demenor changed.

One day he'd be loving and sweet, and the next, he'll be acting like a total douche bag like everyone at school knows him as. He wasn't the same Billy I got to know, he seemed to be getting more rugged as the days passed, and honestly I hated it. Everytime I ask him a simple question as to why he has random bruises on him, he usually ends up shouting at me to drop the topic, and denies that it was his father that created them.

But I knew he was hiding the truth, I had been home enough to hear Billy's dad shouting at him, but whenever Billy would climb through my window with fresh bruises on his cheeks, or on his ribs, he would deny it was his father and just claim he got into a fight with some guys at school. I just wanted him to tell me the truth so I could help him, but he was more closed off when telling me about his home problems.

The jealousy he said he'd stop feeling two months ago, just got worse. The more time I spent at Nancy's, or Jonothan's and sometimes Steve's, he'd force me to spend more time with him, in which I did alot of the time, but sometimes he'd make me cancel some plans, espically with Steve, so that he and I could do something, he treated this as if they were fighting over a toy, and I hated it.

Billy speeds into his parking spot, and I peer out at the eyes that always watch us closely as we exit his car, it's been like this since the first time Billy and I went public, I guess they just thought Billy Hargrove wouldn't tie himself down with a girlfriend, they were wrong.

I collected my bag from the back seat while I avoid Billy, I just dig into my bag and rustle some things around as I double check all of my books were in there, and once I was finished, I zipped up my bag and opened the passenger door. Billy's eyes were already on me as I constantly fiddled with my bag, and when I looked at him, I gave him a nod.

'I'll see you after-' I say but as I'm leaving Billy's hand grabs ahold of mine, and he pulls me back so I'm sat in my seat.

'Don't leave yet, I'm walking you to class' Billy sighs out and I sigh before contemplating on whether I should just leave him and walk off to class, but I just nod slowly before stepping out into the heat of the parking lot. Across the road I see Jonothan and Nancy leaning on his car, and when our eyes meet, they wave at me to go over.

Billy notices this and I look over to him, he gives me a neutral look before he raises his eyebrows at me as a sign of approval.

'I'll be quick' I mumble out before I race over to the two of them, and I watched as Jonothan fiddled with his camera. Then he holds it up to me and shows me the lens.

'It's working, and I'm making this little photo collection- so cheese' Jonothan says before he pushes Nancy and I together and quickly takes a picture of us, and we complain that neither of us were ready. I'm sure my eyes were closed and she had a confused look on her face on the picture.

'Cheese' Jonothan says as Nancy and I smile at the camera, he takes a few more shots before I twist around and see Billy leaning on his car, his arms folded while he watched us intensely. I turn to the two of them and bid my goodbyes.

'I'll see you two in third period' I say before they nod and I walk back to Billy, as soon I'm close to him, he holds out his hand signaling he wants me to grab it, and I grasp his hand in mine and interlock our fingers. He always held my hand when walking me to class, I guess it was his way of showing I was his. We begin to walk and he sighs heavily as we make our way to the building.

'You wanna forget the conversation in the car?' Billy mumbles out as we stop momentarily and I stare up at him, and gaze into his deep blue eyes. I nod before caressing his hand with my thumb, causing a little grin to appear on his face.

'You wanna make out behind the gym?' Billy suggests with a smirk, and I make the rebellious decision and nod quickly before I let out bursts of laughter as he drags eagerly behind him as he ran.
