Little by little things started to change around school. At first it was small changes, nothing really obvious. To those who were paying attention, they noticed how there were fewer arguments and disputes between both packs. Then small acts like opening the door to a member of another pack or even a small nod of recognition when they pass each other in the hall.
Training has only been in progress for a few days and even though it's been showing some progress, both packs were still hesitant, and the time was running out. We only have two weeks to form a bond with the members of the packs before our fathers return and by the way this was going, no matter how good, it still won't be enough time to get to the point where me and Romeo can assume our relationship. So I decided it was time I take matters into my own hands. When lunch time came, I stood in line in the cafeteria and payed for my lunch, only instead of going to my usual table, I made my way to the Montague's table where Romeo was already sitting with Julius and...unfortunately... Tanya. I could feel all eyes on me as I made my way to his table. There was a silence that wasn't there before, everybody was anxious to see what was about to happen.
I don't know what tip him off first, the silence of the cafeteria or me approaching but the second he realized I was approaching him, his back tensed, in anticipation maybe? I don't know but he never turned around, he kept eating as if my presence was extremely normal.
I lay my tray right next to his on the table and sat down. I never said a word I just picked up the book I was currently reading and started eating my lunch calmly. From the corner of my eye I could see him battling a smirk. Little by little there was sound in the cafeteria, people whispering to each other about what I just did.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Julius asks confused
I look up from my book and gave him a playful smirk, then I turn to Romeo "Do you want to explain or should I?"
"Be my guest" Romeo said stilling a potato chip from my plate looking very smug.
"Even tough there aren't so many problems with both packs since the training began, they are still moving too slow. Both packs are still hesitant to trust each other so we..." I said indicating me and Romeo"... need to show we are united and trust each other, so they are more comfortable letting their shields down" I explained
"And you think by sitting together at lunch you'll make them suddenly make them drop their hesitation?" he asks with sarcasm
"We have to start somewhere" I respond looking down at my book again
"Exactly" Romeo agreed and then he makes a move to steal another potato chip from my plate so I slap his hand away before he even got the chance.
"Ouch" he says "That's mean" he says looking hurt even though I knew that hadn't affected him at all "Why did you do that?"
"Nobody steals Juliet's food unless they want to loose their lives" a voice I recognize too well spoke from behind me
"Hey Cas" I say looking at him
"So we're moving tables now?" he asks sitting next to me. He gives a short nod at Julius and Romeo in recognition.
"You should know it" I tease going back to reading my book, no one steals food from me. I try concentrating on my book but honestly Romeo proximity was affecting me too much. My body was finally relaxing having him stand so close to me, his leg was glued to mine and neither of us made the effort to move. And every time I exhale his scent it was the first thing I smelled and I had to contain myself from moaning out loud. Goddess we really needed to make the packs bond fast, we wouldn't be able to contain our wolves for much longer.
