Chapter 43- No Escape

I turned my head slowly cursing out in pain as I limped towards Damien still pointing the gun towards Katie's limp body. I could hear her breathing loudly but she was struggling to move. I quickly began untying Damien hearing him breathe out a sigh of relief.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything", he said but I shook my head smiling.

This wasn't his fight, it was mine.

"You did more than enough Damien, I'm so sorry I put you in danger", I turned to look at Katie who was trying to get up but I could see her struggling body shake in fury. Her face was bruised and bloodied and i could only make out her blue ice cold eyes that stared at me in pure hatred. — That made two of us.

I pulled Damien up and could tell she had hurt him badly, his ankle must have been swollen and he also had blood all over his face but I knew he was trying to handle the pain for when he got up. We needed to get out of here, my own pain was overwhelming because as I walked it was though all my limbs were not mine at all, like I was in a strangers body, a foreigners perhaps and the body didn't react to my abiding, it wouldn't move properly except increase the excruciating pain I felt. I felt like each step was some sort of negotiation with this body rather than an order because everything hurt, everything hurt so damn much.

I need to call the police, or even call Natalie to let her know I'm okay— but my phones been destroyed and I realise we're locked in this god damn room when I try to the pull the door open and it won't budge.

"Where's the key?", I ask her.

"You're not leaving", she laughs crazily showing off her teeth which are now bloodied it looks sadistic and disgusting I resisted my urge to vomit.

"Give me the key or I'll shoot you",  I'm serious, every word I'm speaking is the truth because I knew if she didn't give me an option, I would kill this bitch. I would end her.

"You wouldn't kill me, You're the good innocent girl remember", she teases.

I let go of Damien and walk up to her ignoring the pain on my left ankle and point the gun towards her head, "Get up", my tone is hard.

She looks up at me her blue eyes staring straight thre me it almost made me shiver.

"No", she continues to mockingly laugh at me which only heightens my anger for her.

"You can change this around Katie, don't you love him?", I ask my voice changes to gentle as I look at her.

"There's no such thing as love, it's all been a lie, there is only people who use each other in the name of love and you Zara are in denial if you think other wise", she spits out as a tear falls down her bruised cheek.

"You're sick", I tell her tired of this never ending game.

"Maybe I am but that doesn't excuse the fact that I will destroy you. That video of your sex tape I recorded will be released if you don't let me go", she says grinning at me.

"Ah well maybe I don't give a fuck anymore Katie. I mean who knows, maybe it will be like  Kim Kardashian where I get famous because of my sex tape", I joke rolling my eyes.

"— and any if you did post it just remember it's illegal to film people without their consent, it's even more illegal to post it without their consent and lastly blackmail? I mean wow the list could go on", I say.

"No one will ever find out", she says smiling with her teeth.

"Are you sure about that Katie?", I smile confidently because I know she's exposed herself even if anything happened the cops should be on their way right now.

I walk towards Damien as I sit down on the ground pulling him to the ground. "I guess we'll have to wait and find out", I laugh exhaustion hitting me but I can hear the police sirens so I sigh in relief.

"I guess we'll find out very soon", I taunt before closing my eyes.

That was a bad idea because then I heard a shot fired and froze in shock. Then a voice escapes my lips like a strangled baby lamb yelling out in horror at the realisation of being slaughtered.
