ONE MONTH LATER

I had finished my last exam and breathed a sigh of pure relief having completed them all and actually feeling good about the outcome. The last few weeks I had ended up putting my head down. Shutting the world out and focusing on what would get me my university degree in the future. It would be my third year at my university if I passed my coursework and exams.

I had also mended the broken relationship I had, had with my parents and the look on their face when I stepped into our home always made my heart melt. I realised in life we weren't all perfect and neither were my parents — I understood that we all fucked up constantly and it was just the way we chose to deal with it that showed us our true selves.

Look at me being on mature and stuff..

Zara Bennett the nerd who broke the bad boys heart.

Zara Bennett the good girl turned bad who makes mistakes.

I realised worrying about boys was ridiculous because there were bigger problems in the world so I wasn't going to be dramatic about it anymore. I was going to tell the person I loved how I felt and I would finally try to move on in my life. — just kidding about the dramatic part, I'm all about drama.

I ruffled through my bag digging out my phone and checking the messages to see Natalie's;

How'd your exam go girl? 😱

Surprisingly... Not bad! I replied.

So proud of you hun, celebration party later!!! It's a masked ball theme😁

Ooo sounds fancy. Sure hun, see you later, love you girl ❤️

Love you too ❤️😉

I scrolled down my WhatsApp clicking on my mums chat, she also had sent me a message saying;

Sending love sweetie, were so proud of you. Hope you've done well — there was a selfie of my mum and dad attached to it smiling I grinned as I texted her back.

I think I've actually done alright mum, love you guys— I pose taking a selfie with me giving them a wide smile before sending the selfie.

Next message.... Daniel;

Hey, how's the exams gone for you?

It's gone fine, thanks for asking. How about yours?, I reply back with.

Yeah they've gone alright I think. Can we catch up?

Sure, there's a end of exam celebration, you coming?

Ofcourse have I ever missed a party?😉

Okay wild one, see you there☺️

I shoved my phone in my bag heading back to my apartment. The only thing I would worry about was finding the perfect dress for the masked ball, this would be interesting indeed. — I loved a bit of mystery.

It was only 12pm and after searching through my cupboard and finally given up I pulled out my phone and called Natalie.

"Helloooo", she sang down the phone enthusiastically.
