(Jonathan POV)

I sit down in the center reserved section of the bleachers for parents next to Linda and our two little girls Isla and Natia.

"Daddy! Finey!" The girls shout in unison as I put Finley down on the seat next to them. Linda crosses her arms and looks gives me a once over.

I can only hope she doesn't talk to me during the game. but of course, she has to add in her thoughts about everything.

"Why don't I see you with Ash anymore?" She asks and I tiredly run my fingers through my thick light brown hair.

"I don't want to talk about it," I mutter as I do and she instantly flips her long blonde hair to the side.

"jeez okay be sensitive," she huffs and I pluck at a single gray hair that had managed to make itself known.

"It's not sensitive, frankly it's none of your damn business Linda," I was clearly not in the mood for this but she was never one to understand body language anyway.

"Daddy and Papa aren't together anymore!" Finley decides to announce to the entire fucking world and I narrow my eyes at my backstabbing five year old, who proceeds to munch his fruit snacks with an evil smirk while swinging his feet.

"Ah! So you're single now!" Linda pounces and wraps her arm around my shoulder.

"Unless you suddenly sprouted a dick in the past six years Linda I'm not interested and even if you did I highly doubt it would happen," I tell her and she laughs it off.

"Ah Johnny you weren't gay before Ashley got his hands on you," she smirks and I push her violating hand off of me before I'm molested by her claws.

"Ehhhh, It's debatable." I sigh, just thinking of Ash.

A small smile had managed to build its way up at the happy thoughts of Ash and I as teenage boys, hopelessly in love and star-crossed with circumstance.

Ashley was so desperate he jumped off a bridge and I had to save his dumbass.
Then he was taken hostage in a plane crash and was presumed to be dead for ten years.
And then he was back from the dead, Linda was gone, and we moved to New York.

Six years later we had filed for divorce but I hadn't built up the strength to sign the papers.

Even though I know he's already moved on, I still have the slightest hope buried in the bottom of my shattered heart that if he gives it a chance we can make it work.

I just have to fight like hell to get my chance.

"PAPA!"

Finley's screams suddenly pierce my ears as the devil himself makes his way into the roaring stadium. I avoid Ashley's gaze and grab hold of little Finley, snuggling him on my lap to try to hold strong.

"Papa!" My twin girls go running after him and he picks them both up in their matching blue and gold dresses.

Fin tries to wiggle out but I hold him hostage. After he looks up and sees my face he instantly calms down and presses his little head against my chest.

"Hey guys," Ash sits down next to Linda and two start talking while I remain thankful for some sort of relief from not having to face him right away.

"Are you okay daddy?" Finley whispers as he looks up and cups my face with his small hands. I kiss his cute little forehead wrinkled with concern.
