(Ash POV)
"Papa?"
I feel a small weight on my chest as I open my eyes only to be face to face with the same hazel eyes staring back at me.
"Good morning papa!"
Finley squeals as he holds my cheeks in his tiny hands.
"Good morning?"
I look into his sweet little face and he gently rubs his nose against mine. I was confused as to why he was being such a cute little angel instead of a demonic little shit and look over to Johnny for answers. But he just tiredly rested his head on my pillow and watched us in amusement.
"Did you already drug him?" I whisper and he laughs, coughs, and sneezes at the same time.
"Ew, no. No not yet. He's just not fully possessed until after breaking his fast," Johnny explains and I look back to Fin, who had taken to whimpering like a small puppy while curling up on my chest.
"Are you sure?" I double check and my husband hits me in response.
"I take credit for the cuddly side of Finley so enjoy it," Jonathan reminds me.
I wrap my arms around the baby-shampoo-smelling-puppy-whimpering-secret-sadist cuddled on my chest.
"We should probably get up and going soon," Johnny groans as he comes closer and rests his head on my shoulder, reaching over to ruffle Finley's messy bedhead.
"But he's so cute," I coo as I pick at his soft dinosaur PJs while he slowly lifts up and down with every breath I take.
"He is being really cute, Maybe our travels won't be so bad after all," Johnny mutters under his breath.
"Papa, what's that squishy sound in your chest?" Fin asks in his usual high pitched giggle.
"It's called a heartbeat buddy," I answer.
"Do I have one too?" He continues to nuzzle his head against my bare chest and suddenly I feel the heat.
"On good days..." I mutter and take the hit from Johnny while I sit up.
And Fin suddenly rolls off me and flops over onto the bed like a lifeless sack of beans.
"Hi papa," He giggles and I reach up to feel his forehead.
"Shit, I knew something was wrong," I grumble and Fin starts to shiver.
"What's wrong?" Johnny sits up next to me while I shake my head.
"He's sick,"
"I'm not hungry,"
Fin moans as he tilts forward and rests his head on the kitchen island.
