[Jonathan POV]
"So how's forty treating you old man?"
Ashley laughs and I punch him in his muscular gut.
"First of all fuck you, and second of all, I could ask you the same question!" I exclaim and he laughs in response before taking a sip of wine from the glass.
"I see why you chose Switzerland." He mumbles softly as he looks around us at the beautiful picturesque landscape and the peaceful isolation.
For a week it was just the two of us in the middle of the Swiss mountains during the summer staying in a small cabin next to a large waterfall surrounded by vast oceans of green mountainside.
We were relaxing on the porch overlooking this great waterfall, sitting on the couch, I lay my head on Ashley's lap.
It was just the two of us.
Without children.
And most importantly, there was no Finley running around us starting forest fires for all we know.
"Do you not like Switzerland, I thought it would be peaceful enough to give us some time to recover," I tell him and he sighs. Puting the wine glass down on the floor before running his fingers through my hair.
"Recover from what?" he has the nerve to ask.
"Everything. A lot has happened in the past year," I groan and he rolls his eyes.
"A lot has happened throughout our entire marriage, what year is this? Twenty?" he asks while he twirls the soft curls in my hair.
"We haven't even reached ten yet, how did we magically make the jump to twenty?" I stretch my arms behind my head and he chuckles softly.
