Calum (21):
Your world had always been one of suspense and mystery, curious eyes darting to the inside of your wrist when they caught sight of the swirling black ink marking out words not often seen. It was liberating, yet also terrifying, as you were different.

People told you how lucky you were - when the time came when you were to meet your soulmate, there would be no qualms over whether it was true or not for the tattoo was so defining. Most had the word 'hello' inked on the inside of their wrist, or another form of greeting. Others had a saying such as 'that'll be £4.99' or 'sorry!', a mere passer-by that could be anyone.

For you, things were different. Your wrist simply read 'I'm Calum, these idiots are Luke, Ashton and Michael'. Often you found yourself absentmindedly rubbing at the sentence, wishing this unknown Calum would burst through the door and profess his first words that you knew so well. Other times you would shrink in fear, for you had all the power to find your soulmate yet it was such a daunting prospect, a huge change in your life that couldn't be undone.

Then came your 21st birthday, when those around you decided you could no longer hide from the inevitable and if you didn't get a move on there would be no soulmate left to find. So, your best friend dragged you to her laptop one day for some extreme googling and stalking on social media.

"What are we supposed to type in?" you asked hesitantly, watching her eye the keyboard beadily. "There will be millions of people called Calum in the world."

"But will there be millions of Calums that also have friends called Luke, Ashton and Michael?" she laughed, licking her lips and shaking her head. "I don't think so."

And so she typed into the search bar, 'Calum Luke Ashton Michael'. You weren't expecting anything at all, since the chances of this person being so easy to find were very slim, so the millions of photos and web pages that came up were a huge shock, causing the room to spin around you.

"Woah." Their faces splattered every page, controversy in every news article and their music everywhere.

"5 seconds of summer," your best friend breathed, leaning back in her chair. You didn't live under a rock, you knew that band from the radio and every so often the news, but you hadn't paid any attention to the actual members. Maybe if you had, it wouldn't have been so long until you found out.

"Calum. My soulmate. Famous," you stuttered, unable to form full sentences before your head hit the floor and everything went black.

***
"Quite a shock, I think," one of your friends mumbled, handing you a steaming mug of tea as you curled up on the sofa under a thick blanket. "I mean, your soulmate is Calum Hood."

"Yeah, I know," you groaned. "What do I do?"

"What do you mean?" your best friend scoffed. "You're getting on the first flight to Sydney!"

"What?"

"We managed to get in touch with their management!" squealed another of your friends. "They're fully prepared to help you meet Calum and are giving you a hand getting there!"

"What if it's not this Calum?" you stammered. "What if we've got it wrong?"

No one replied to that, just sent you equally exasperated glares.

"You'll find that out when you meet him," said your friend. "Now come on!"

***
It was possibly the longest flight you had ever taken, not due to the distance but the pounding in your heart and waterfall of thoughts crashing through your head. You were nervous, more than ever before, and when you finally left the aeroplane you were like jelly.

Fortunately your best friend was there to support you, a rock through it all, and kept up a flow of soothing words and distractions.

"Here, let's get something to eat," she suggested, pointing to a café just outside the airport. The sun smiled down on your heads and only a few clouds dotted the sapphire sky, so you were perfectly open to the idea of a cool drink and perhaps some food to calm you down. Plane meals were terrible, after all.

You were quick to find a table, somewhere sheltered right under a brightly coloured umbrella, and had just began to look at the menu when a crash interrupted you followed by a huge shove and you were flying through the air onto the floor with a smack of skin hitting tiles.

"I'm so sorry!" a man's voice sounded above your head, and you were helped up by a tall, smiling boy with dimples and curly hair. "That was an accident, I swear!"

"It's okay," you smiled though your face was on fire. "I don't bruise easily."

Instantly regret poured through your brain, that was a stupid thing to say, why were you so socially inept-

But then you looked properly at your attackers and almost fainted again. For there in front of you were Calum, Ashton, Luke and Michael. 5 seconds of summer. Your soulmate. And they were looking at you with so much interest and shock that you almost resembled a tiger at the zoo.

Instantly the boys started to push and shove Calum to the front, and he smiled weakly, holding up his wrist on which read the words 'It's okay, I don't bruise easily'.

"I'm Calum, these idiots are Luke, Ashton and Michael."

"She's your soulmate!" Luke squealed.

"Shut up, Luke."
