Enjoy the chapter!
Leila xxSardines is basically just reverse hide and seek where one person hides and everyone else finds them, and when you find them you have to hide with them until the last person finds you.
Luke (16):
"Rainy days suck," Michael groaned, laying across the sofa and taking up all the space so the rest of you had to perch on the scratchy carpet."Shut up, it's not like you leave the house anyway," Calum said. "Where are your video games?"
"We don't have any video games," you said. "Jack took them all when he last visited."
"See, this is why I hate the Hemmings household," Michael interrupted again. "Ben and Jack took all the fun things and now we just have Y/N's boring films."
"Hey, my films aren't-"
"Yes, they are," the boys chorused.
"Where's Jack Black? Will Smith?" Ashton asked. "It's not a good film without at least one of those people."
"Idiots," you muttered. "My films are good."
The conversation ceased to a natural halt and the five of you sat there in momentary silence, just enjoying the company. Of course, that only lasted a few seconds.
"Rainy days suck."
"Shut up, Michael," Luke said. "Let's do something then."
"I thought we'd already decided the only thing to do is watch Y/N's boring films," said Ashton.
"Wait- let's play sardines!" you suggested.
Silence.
"I refuse to participate," Michael said.
"Ok, firstly, you're the one complaining," you pointed out, "and secondly, it'll be fun!"
"Yeah, she's right," Calum agreed. "Let's do it."
Ashton smiled. "I'll hide."
"I'm not five anymore," Luke sighed, but stood up anyway.
"Michael?"
With four pairs of eyes on him, the boy in question shrunk back slightly. "I'm not playing any game which involves many people hiding together in a small space."
"Yes you are," Ashton said, and that settled the matter as he left the room and the rest of you started counting to thirty.
Once the time was up everyone dispersed, even Michael reluctantly. It was a difficult game to play in a small house, where every so often you would bump into each other and it was very noticeable if someone entered a room and didn't come out.
Then again, you were known for being terrible at sardines.
About ten minutes later, the house was eerily quiet. You hadn't heard anyone walking around, or seen any of the boys in a while, so it was safe to assume they were now all hiding.
There was only one room in the house you hadn't checked, the room you swore you wouldn't go back into after catching Luke doing some 'questionable' things.
Your brother's bedroom.
That had to be where the boys were hiding, so you pushed the disturbing memory to the back of your mind and opened the door.
Clothes littered the floor, piled up around the bed, yet the laundry basket was still full. The curtains were pulled tightly shut, but the lights were on so you knew you were in the right place.
The awareness that you were being watched slid over your shoulders, and you felt an urge to be quick and not embarrass yourself, so began to thoroughly check everywhere.
There was no one under the bed. No one behind the curtains, or even in the mounds of clothes (you were still disgusted from touching Luke's dirty laundry). No one behind the door, no one crouched in the corners.
You were beginning to lose hope, when the laundry basket shuddered.
Unless the laundry basket was sentient, that could only mean one thing.
Flipping up the lid quickly, you burst out laughing to see all four boys crammed inside the tiny space. Ashton was curled up like a hedgehog at the bottom while Michael and Calum crouched on top, pressed tightly together.
Luke, on the other hand, was bent into a position you didn't know was possible - his knees were on either side of his head with his feet hanging in the air.
"Found you."
"Thank the lord, hallelujah!" you heard Ashton scream at the bottom. "I could see my life flashing before my eyes."
"Help us out, Y/N," Luke held out his hand, which was tucked between his legs while the other was trapped beneath his back.
"On second thoughts, you all look quite comfortable," you said with a grin, placing the lid back on the laundry basket.
"Wait, Y/N-"
"Please no-"
"Help us-"
"I swear to God you'll never see the light of day again-"
You made sure your footsteps were heard clearly as you walked away, giggling loudly.
"THAT'S IT! WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE YOU'RE GROUNDED!"
