~A/N~ I've had the worst week imaginable but at least I have an idea for product design. This style of writing is kind of strange but I might use it again idk
Enjoy the chapter!

Michael (19):
Your emotions tied you to Michael in ways you couldn't imagine. It was terrifying and sometimes you wished you couldn't feel the heavy pain in his chest, the backpack of misery crushing his shoulders, but in the end you wouldn't change anything. Some of your best moments were forged from understanding each other in a way only soulmates could, along with some of your worst.

January
You cuddled closer to Michael on the worn sofa, the rain thudding at the window though the fire crackled, keeping you warm. He drew patterns lazily into your arm, and you closed your eyes as the warm air formed a haze that almost sent you to sleep.

"I love you, Y/N," he murmured, and you perked up straight away. The unfamiliar words rang through your ears and you frowned, not sure if they were working correctly.

"What?"

"I, um... I love you?"

Happiness flew through your veins, sending tingles up and down the surface of your skin. You giggled, and Michael giggled in return, pulling you further into his chest.

"I can tell you're happy," he whispered, "because I can feel it too."

February
"It's fine, I won't even miss him," you mumbled to yourself, pacing up and down the stained kitchen tiles. "He'll be back soon anyway. It's only a few months."

"Y/N?" Michael called from upstairs, trudging through the darkness to find you desperately trying to console yourself. "It's 3am, what's going on? I can tell you're worrying about something, because I'm getting the same anxious symptoms but none of the thoughts."

"It's fine, it's nothing," you said. There was no point in making him stress the night before his flight, you could handle it yourself.

"It's not nothing," he smiled sadly. "I know you too well. Is it the tour?"

You nodded, and he pulled you in for a hug.

"Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it."

March
Two more minutes. Two minutes until you could finally see Michael again, after weeks of being apart. The flight had been carefully planned, your visit carefully hidden by management and the other boys so that you could surprise your boyfriend in the most special way possible.

Your phone buzzed and you bounced up and down on the balls of your feet as you read the message.

Michael: What are you excited for?

It took you a moment to figure out why he was asking until you remembered that he could probably feel your intense emotion blocking out anything he might naturally have been feeling.

You: Nothing really in particular. What are you doing?

Michael: Just coming back from soundcheck. This isn't fair, now I'm excited but nothing's going to happen on my part

As though fate had leaned over your shoulder and read the text, the door was pushed open to reveal your boyfriend's pale face. A range of emotions played across him, reciprocated in your brain, until one shone through - an overwhelming flood of delight.

April
The tension had been building, and you knew it. Throughout the month of Michael being away, both of your moods had grown worse until you finally snapped.
