Tonight was supposed to be a fun night. We were supposed to eat a free dinner, dance a little, and then head home. Little did I know that this supposedly exciting night would turn into my most terrifying nightmare.

It started when Fiona called me at 6 AM in the morning on a Tuesday. We had yesterday and today off due to parent conferences, and I was planning on sleeping in 'till lunch since I hardly slept at all last night because of my nightmare. But no, Fiona had to ruin it.

I groaned as I sat up slowly, reaching over my nightstand to grab my phone.

"What," I spat grumpily.

"TONIGHT IS SENIOR DINNER AND DANCE NIGHT!" she squealed.

I was quiet for a moment. She woke me up at this ungodly hour, just to remind me that we get free food and a small dance tonight?

"I will cut you, " I said. May I remind you, I am NOT a morning person.

"That's not all T, hold your horses," she said giggling.

Who giggles at six in the morning?!

"I can't sleep. Do you want to go on a run with me?" she asked innocently.

Are you kidding me. I hung up the phone at her ridiculous question. I love running, but I love sleeping more.

I tried to fall back asleep, but it was no use. When I wake up, I can never fall back asleep. That's when I knew today was gonna suck so badly.

"Yes, Fiona. I will curl my hair...yes I will wear eye shadow and mascara...yah, no! I'm not going to wear blush, it comes naturally to me, sadly...yes I have a dress. What are you, my mom!?...no your not." I rolled my eyes at her pestering. "I'll see you in twenty minutes and you can do it all for me, k? Bye."

I was currently in my purple dress that I had found in my moms closet. It's like Forever 21 in there. The dress was a gorgeous shade of purple that complimented my skin tone, with a belt like fabric wrapping around. It flows from then on. And boy did I rock it. I'm not one to be self centered, but in this dress, I'm confident. Tonight isn't supposed to be incredibly formal, but more of like a party outfit. And this dress screamed "PARTY" to me.

I heard footsteps coming from the stairs, and Fiona ran into my room wearing floral skinny jeans, a mint green tank top that was laced on the back with a pair of grey combat boots. She also had a head band and a sunflower necklace.

She's always had a good sense of style.

"OMG!" She said. "You look so cute!"

"Thanks." I said with a small smile. "I just need to curl my hair and put on my make up. So how about you curl, I put make up on?"

"Sounds good," she said.

She set on my hair as I started with eye liner. After that I began my mascara. I took my time, making sure I did it perfectly.

"All done!" Fiona said smiling. "Let's roll."

We hoped in my car and drove off towards the school.

"So...." Fiona began.

I raised my eyebrow. "Yes?"

"I totally ship Zeagan!" She squealed.

"What?" I said.

"You and Zander! You guys like each other, you're just idiots and you won't admit it." She huffed.

"What!" I yelled. "We do NOT like each other," I muttered. "And where did you get Zeagan?"

"Teagan and Zander, your names are combined. Duh." She said like I was an idiot.

"Whatever. Let's just go have some fun." I said.

"Yah, dance with Zander and make your move."

I rolled my eyes while I parked the car. We got out and walked into the gymnasium where everyone else was headed. The gym wasn't really decorated, it just had a couple balloons and on one side, there were tables and a long buffet packed with food. On the other side, there was open space for you to dance, and a Dj table who was currently playing Fancy by Iggy Izalea. The place was already packed with a bunch if people. It reminds me of an actual high school party. Maybe tonight will be amazing after all.

"Let's dance!" Fiona said grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the dance floor that was packed with people. I spotted Eric dancing with a girl and I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Good afternoon sir." I smiled.

"Hey Teagan." He turned back to the girl and whispered something in her ear. She smiled and walked away and he then turned back to me. "So what's up?"

"Teagans going to have a stress free night tonight!" My best friend answered for me. "She's been way to stressed on college applications and things."

I love how my best friends knows me when I don't.

"Well, let's dance shall we?" He smiled.

And for almost two hours, we danced. And I was stress free, dancing with my friends. But that's when all things went wrong.

"I need to use the restroom!" I yelled over the loud music.

"See ya!" Fiona yelled dancing with Richard, a boy in our grade. I laughed and headed over across the gym and down the hall way.

"Teagan?" Said a voice.

I turned around, and saw Zander standing there, looking as fricken gorgeous as ever. Swoon.

"Hey! How come your so late?" I questioned.

"I got held up in some family stuff, but it's all good." He said with a small smile.

"Oh, well I'm going to the restroom so we'll chat later, okay?" I said waving and walking backwards slowly.

"Okay." He turned around and walked away.

I walked inside to touch up my make up because the sweat was making it messy from the dancing.

I looked in the mirror and I noticed that there was smoke coming from the stalls.

I rolled my eyes. "Whoever is smoking, exit the bathroom and I won't report you. Better yet, go home."When there was no repose and the smoke increased, I walked over towards the stall. It was glowing a bright orange. "What the hell are you smoking in there!?" I yelled. I banged on the door and yelled, "Seriously. Leave the campus." I banged again, but instead of the door opening, it literally fell of its hinges. I screamed and jumped back in fright. But to my amaze, there was no one in their, just a fire.

"Crap!" I yelled. I turned on the sink and filt as much water as I could in my hands and threw it at the fire. But it was no use, and the fire just seemed to grow, taking over 2/3 of the bathroom. It was getting hard to breathe, and my mind was in over load.

Why haven't the fire alarms gone off?

I need to warn the others and get them out of the school. I ran towards the door and into the hall just as the fire swallowed the girls bathroom. The next thing that happened, I'm not even sure I can comprehend.

The fire followed me.

Call me crazy, but it followed me as if I was a fire magnet. It seemed like a wave chasing you as you run to shore. But the fire was still burning everything it touched. I burst open the gym doors and yelled as loud as I could so people could hear me over the music.

"FIRE!"
