"Good afternoon officer! How may I help you?" Zander said faking enthusiasm. About three officers were standing at my door, and the rest were scoping out my front lawn. I mentally scoffed, what would I hide in my lawn?

"Is Teagan White here?" One man with a long beard asked curtly.

"I'm here!" I raised my hand, almost Like I was at school waiting to be called on. "What can I do for you?"

"We need to ask you a couple of question regarding RED. I'm Sheriff Dork and these two-"

"Wait, are you serious? Your name is Dork?"

He glared at me, letting me know he was indeed, not joking with me.

"Uhm, carry on...Sheriff..Dork." I tried my best not to laugh.

"These two are Chums and Krusty. May we come in?" Sheriff Dork asked.

"Absolutely!" Zander said. "Come I. In! Make yourselves at home! Me casa es tu casa!"

I sent him a look to cool it. He apparently was not good in a situation under pressure. It was actually quite funny to watch him go from cool and confident to nervous and awkward. This was a completely new side to him.

Sheriff Dork stood by the doorway as his men stood on either side of Zander and I.

"Do you know why we are here?" He asked.

"Nope." I said, popping the P. "Does this have to do with the park incident a while ago? Because I can't remember much but-"

"This is not about that. It's about how you are the reason people are going to die!"Officer Chums snapped angrily from my right.

I bit my lip. "Oh, that."

"Miss White, this does not look good for you. I suggest you cooperate or we will think you are In on this with RED." Sheriff Dork said.

"SHES INNOCENT!" Zander cried out.

"What he means," i chuckled nervously, "is that I don't understand why I was even mentioned to begin with. I don't know RED personally, and he might have just pulled this stunt to throw you guys off guard."

"Yeah!" Zander shifted awkwardly. "Yeah what she said."

"Why are you wearing sunglasses still?" Officer Krusty asked curiously.

"I-"

"She has a rare eye condition. All these lights are just too bright for her!" Zander cut in again.

Wow this boy needs a muzzle.

"Uh, yeah." I said.

"See?" Zander pointed out.

Officer Krusty nodded like he understood.

"Uh...anyways! " I smiled at the Sheriff. "Feel free to ask me questions!"

"Did you ever meet RED?" Sheriff Dork asked.

"Of course she didn't! What kind of dork would-" Zander stopped abruptly. "I'm just going to go to the kitchen. Call me when you need me." He stalked off awkwardly.

I rubbed my arm quickly and studied my nails. My nerves were through the roof at the moment. I couldn't believe I was lying to the police. I was actually lying to these people, and I could go to jail for this. The odds of them finding out that RED might supposably be my..dad are now vet high all thanks to the man himself. He just had to mention me!

"He's weird. Someone go keep an eye on him. I don't want him trying anything funny." Sheriff Dork ordered. Officer Chums quickly left.

"Now, we just have a few questions."

* * *

"Well that went well." I muttered as is hut the door. "Zander, you can come out now. Dork had left!"

"Great." He said. "How did it go?"

"Well I had to roll with your silly lies but I think I managed to persuade them:" I smiled triumphantly.

He hugged me. "That's what I've always like about you. You're deceptively evil."

I pecked him on the lips. "What can I say?"

He kissed me back quickly. "You're not required to say anything."

There was cough at my door and Zander and I froze.

"Is now a bad time?" There stood Fiona in her red pajamas looking stressed as ever.

Zander and I sprang apart. "Uh, can I help you?"

"Look. I was thinking about what RED said and I think I understand it." She said, trying to pat down the mane that is her hair.

"Fiona, we know. I stand out because I have-"

"Grey eyes. But that's not it. If RED is your dad then there's a possibility that his superhero genes were passed on." Fiona muttered. She looked like she's been in bed all day and hadn't showered for a week.

"What are you implying?" Zander said.

"Teagan, I'm ninety-eight percent sure you have powers." She said hesitantly.

I bulged me eyes. "Wait what?"

"Remember when Rebecca fell into the water fountain during a meet? She was just standing and flirting with Zander and then boom. She fell over."
She said.

"People fall over all the time." Zander muttered. "Doesn't prove anything."

"Okay well what about my flat tire?" Fiona cried. "What about the day we were peacefully riding in my car and boom. Flat tire."

"Fiona," I shook my head. "You seem really stressed. Perhaps you should go home and get some sleep and-"

"Teagan!" Fiona yelled in frustration. "I'm not crazy. I'm trying to help you!"

"Help me? Why would a freak like me ask for help?" I spat angrily. Ignoring the fact that Zander was in the room, I continued on. "Why would I ask you out of everyone?"

Fiona flinched. "Teagan I get it. I was mad and you were mad at me and we exchanged some hurtful words but I'm not trying to mess with you! If you don't trust me then please just trust the girl you became best friends with many many years ago. Please Teagan, I'm begging you. I think you're in danger, and as a best friend it's my duty to help you."

I continued to stare at her in thought. Fiona and I don't fight, we just argue and move on with our lives. And I'm pretty sure I can't continue to live my life without her, and vice versa. Fiona is a part of my life; a part of me. And I understand that she messed up but, but we're only human, right?

I did the only thing I could of think of at the moment. I hugged her tightly.

"Teagan I'm so sorry, I know I messed up. You're not a freak. You are far from it!" She sobbed.

"...erm, I hate to break this up but Fiona brought up a good point." Zander coughed awkwardly. "This isn't something we can just brush off."

"He's right," I sighed. "Let's take down this maniac before the night falls."
