It was the next day after Jay's kidnapping and his rescue. Riley had Will come over and hang out as they watched the game and had a few beers.
However, today she was shocked to hear the door knock. She knew Will had a shift at Med. So when she heard the door knock, she wasn't sure who it was.
Upon opening the door, Riley is greeted by a bruised face Jay Halstead. He had a smile on his face as he held coffee in his hands.
"Coffee," He offers.
Riley smiles, "Thanks."
Jay was wearing loose fitted jeans, a loose fitted white shirt, and his jacket. Riley assumed he picked easier clothes to wear since he has some serious bruising on his ribs.
"I didn't expect to see you out of the hospital." She said as she welcomed him in.
Jay snickers, "Oh well I promised I'd be resting."
"Clearly you're resting." She said smirking.
Jay turns to her, "Hey, I got bored and well since Voight gave you the next few days off to- well deal from it, I'd thought I'd rest with some company." He said.
Riley rolls her eyes, "Which means me waiting on you." She said.
Jay laughs as he slowly sits down on the couch so he doesn't hurt himself. Riley walked over to the couch. She was dressed down for a more comfortable clothing. She wore her hair in a messy bun. A loose fitted hoodie over top her black t-shirt, running shorts, and ankle cut socks.
"You run this morning?" He asks.
Riley turns to Jay, "No. I wasn't expecting company today so I wasn't going to bother to make myself look human."
Jay smiles at her, "Ah you look fine." He said.
Riley glanced from her coffee to him, "You Halsteads are such flirts." She said.
Jay takes a sip from his coffee and then asks, "So how are things with my brother?"
Riley shrugs, "Eh, I mean things aren't bad but I don't know exactly what we are. We haven't talked about a relationship and well we've had got out for dinner twice and ordered Chinese here last night." She said.
Jay just snickers, "Jeez, if you like my brother just tell him. Will has a hard time acting on feelings." He said.
Riley nods, "Guess that's something we both share."
Jay nods as he takes a sip of his coffee. Riley turns on the TV so there would be sound in the background. Riley watched some TV with Jay, as they flipped through different channels. However, Riley glanced over to notice Jay had passed out.
Riley smiles softly, she gets up and reached for a blanket resting on the back of the couch and Riley covers the blanket over top Jay.

It was a few hours later when Jay woke up. It was due to the smell in the air. He started to move as he woke, noticing the blanket on top of him. He felt the soft cotton fabric on him. He slowly gets up and noticed Riley in the kitchen cooking.
"Ugh- what are you cooking?" Jay asks.
Riley glanced over, "Oh look its my guest who fell asleep on my couch." She said.
Jay snickers at that, "Yeah sorry about that. Didn't realize I was really that tired." He said.
Riley rolls her eyes, "Yeah yeah."
Jay forced himself up, despite his body arguing with him to just lay down. Riley freaked and ran over, mostly due to the sound coming from Jay. Riley managed to help balance him out as the detective stands fully. Riley and Jay get to the kitchen and he sits down at the breakfast bar.
