*At the very bottom I decided to put the family tree of the Schmidt/Wood clan, I changed a few things. I made Lorelei seventeen instead of both girls being under the age of ten. Only Grace is still a child which is nine years old.*
They were still at the hospital. Riley was sitting in the waiting room, she had previously visited Betty Cox to check on the women. The women was so happy to see Riley and explained how her son is still in surgery.
Riley sat there in one of those waiting room chairs, just waiting. She glanced around and noticed Nancy pacing back and forth while talking to Peter. Then Riley looked over to the girls. Grace seemed to not even notice. The nine year old was playing with a doll that she had brought with, and Lorelei was just on her phone.
Riley leaned her head back and closed her eyes, sighing.
Then she felt a tap on her shoulder, she opened her eyes to see Will. She stands up and looks at him.
"Yeah?" She asks.
Nancy and Peter slowly looked in their direction. Curious about whatever news Will was giving Riley. Even Lorelei put down her phone to look at what was going on.
"So Nate is out of surgery," Will said, "His mom wanted me to pass it on to you, she said you were planning on staying to make sure he was alright."
Riley nods, "Yeah, I- uh was worried because he didn't look so good at the scene."
Will frowns, "He didn't look so good coming in here." He said honestly.
Riley looks at him, "Is Jay still here?" She asks.
Will nods as he holds his arms on his chest, "He's questioning Mrs Cox now."
"Does he want my statement? Or is he just going to get it from Burgess?" She asks.
Will shrugs, "I don't know." Then his pager beeps, "I gotta go."
She nods, "I know," She kissed him on the cheek, "I'll see you later."
Will smiles and heads off. Riley stood there for a moment and then she turned around to see her mom looking at her.
"So that is Will? Huh?" Nancy asks.
Riley nods, "Yeah." She said as she sat down.
Nancy walked over, "You two serious?"
Riley nods, "Uh- yeah."
Nancy smiles, "He seems like a good guy." She said.
"He really is." Riley said.
Then Ethan came out into the waiting room, Peter and Nancy made eye contact with him and he motioned for them to follow him.
"Uh the girls?" Peter spoke.
"Riley, can you watch them?" Nancy asks.
Riley nods.
And then the parents left. Riley stood up and looked at the girls again. Grace seemed to still be playing with the doll of hers and Lorelei was on her phone still. Riley walked over to where the girls are and sat down.
"Are you two hungry?" Riley asks.
Grace shakes her head, "No. We had dinner before we came here."
Riley nods, "Ah," She seemed awkward with them, "Okay."
Lorelei turns her screen of her phone off and turns to Riley, "Did you ever know about us?"
"What?" Riley asks.
"Did you know we existed?" She asks differently.
Riley shakes her head, "No. After my- our mom left my dad, I lost her."
