It's Gonna Be Okay

Riley was sitting in the bullpen, finishing up some paperwork regarding a case. It had been a while since the warehouse fire. Since Lexi died. And Stone took the guy to court and he was found guilty. At least Al and the other families got closure from this whole ordeal.

Riley glanced over at the break room and noticed Jay and Erin speaking silently among themselves.

She wasn't sure if they were an idea or not. She never was given any clarifications, but she just assumed it wasn't just meaningless sex.

Riley checked her phone. No new messages.

It was the weekend. Riley trusted Lorelei to watch over Grace, seeing as Lorelei is going to be turning eighteen in a few weeks.

"Everything okay?" Ruzek asks as he takes a sip of his coffee.

Riley looked up, "Yeah," She says, "Just- it's nothing."

Ruzek sits down at his desk, "Is this the first time Lorelei has been in charge of Grace by herself?"

Riley shakes her head, "No,"

Adam gives her a smile, "Then you have nothing to worry about." He says.

Riley nods.

It wasn't until before Riley was going to leave was when she got a phone call. Instead of who she expected, which was Lorelei, it was Will.

Sure it wasn't odd for Will to call Riley while at work. He'll call instructing her that he'll be late home or if he was out early.

"Will," Riley asks as she grabs her jacket, "I was just heading out. Are you working late?"

"Riley,"  Will's voice didn't sound like normal, "You need to get to Med."

Riley halts in her movement at the top of the stairs, "What's wrong?"

"Grace,"  Will says, "She was brought in a few moments ago. She was suffering from a seizure, but I don't know much."

Riley felt her world spinning. She just nodded at Will's answer despite him not seeing her nod. She begins down the stairs in a hurry.

After that everything felt like a blur. Her phone call ending from Will. Her getting out of the building. Her getting into her car. Her driving to Med.

When Riley arrived to the ER, she was instructed by Maggie to trauma one. Which is where Riley found Lorelei and Will. Will was standing near Lorelei, as Lorelei sat by Grace.

Grace was unconscious, cuddling with a teddy bear that a nurse bought her from the hospital gift shop.

"Will," Riley says, "Lorelei,"

Lorelei stands up and starts bawling, "I- I'm so sorry." She says and hugs Riley, "I took my eyes off of her for a second and then she collapsed-."

Lorelei kept rambling on and sobbing. Riley held onto her sister and glanced to Will. Will looked tired. He had been working for maybe twelve hours or more.

Riley pulls her sister back, "Lorelei, I'm not mad." She says, "Worried but not mad."

Lorelei nods and starts to slow down on her crying to calm herself down. Riley's eyes move from Lorelei to Will.

"I'm going to go find Grace's doctor," Riley says, "You stay here with your sister."

Lorelei sits down and holds Grace's hand, "I'm not leaving her."
