"Anything?" Voight asks as he and the others arrived at Intelligence.
Riley shakes her head with a sad look, "Nothing." She said.
Dawson had looked up to see Roman and Burgees bringing in his female CI, so he took over taking her to sit down as Atwater went to speak to the other man who came with Benji. Riley was sitting on a chair next to Jay's desk and glanced up to see Voight demand the location of Derek Keyes, to which he got nothing from her.
"Voight," Trudy appears, "There is a kid down here who is demanding to see you and only you."
Voight leaves, handing Dawson his CI back. Riley watched Voight leave and then went back to looking at camera feed of the streets. Nothing.
"Schmidt," Voight called to gain her attention.
She is usually never called by her last name, so the rarity of it made her fully alert on Voight. He had a doughnut box with a cell phone and a CD.
"Pull it up." Voight hands her the CD.
Riley put her laptop on Antonio's desk and put the CD in the CD reader, as this happened the team all gathered around to see what was sent.
Within a few second of buffering, an image of an injured Jay appeared. He was hanging there, being beaten and shocked by a taser. His screams echoed. Antonio held his hands clasped by his forehead looking down at the desk. Adam just looked at it in horror. Alvin shakes his head as he crosses his arms on his chest. Kevin shakes his head as he leans against the filing cabinets. Voight stood there listening in and tighten his jaw. Riley sat there in utter shock and fear.
Antonio was the one who paused the torture, after that Voight had a call from the cell.
"Your boy is tough," It was the voice of Derek Keyes.
His voice was loud enough that Riley could hear it from the small flip phone.
"You should be proud," Derek added with a hint of laughter in his voice.
Voight rubs his forehead, "What do you want?" He asks.
"I want all of Intelligence's CI files in exchange for you detective. Bring the CI files to the corner of 39th and California. Send a lone female office. No cameras, no wires, no weapons." Derek said.
Riley heard that. Knowing Voight he'd look for some female officer, since Erin isn't here.
"Just a girl with a box," Derek said, "You'll make the drop tomorrow at nine a.m. or Detective Halstead winds up fertilizer in some cornfield in Indiana. We understand each other, Sergeant?" Derek then hung up.
Voight closed the phone and turned around to find his men and Riley looking at him for answers to the phone call.
"What did he want?" Dawson asks.
"Halstead's life for all our CI files." Voight said.
Ruzek nods, "That's easy, right? We hand over the files, right?" He asks.
Dawson got defensive, "Whoa, there's over a hundred CIs in our database. A couple dozen are mine. Half got wives and kids. I'm not gonna have their blood on my hands if their names get leaked." Dawson said.
"So you'd rather protect them and bury Jay?" Ruzek asks.
Dawson turns to snap at Ruzek, "No! Of course I wouldn't!"
"Calm down!" Olinksy said.
Voight turns to Riley, "Think you can make some fake files for us?"
Riley nods, "Yeah sure."
