Riley was watching TV in her apartment late. It was eleven o'clock at night. She had canceled dinner plans with her mom and step-dad, they seemed to understand after the whole Yates thing happened.
Riley wrapped herself with the throw blanket that usually rests on the couch. She was flipping through the channels. Not really paying attention to what was playing. She had a half filled bottle of beer in one hand and the remote in the other.
She took a swig of the beer and then heard a knock at the door. She perked her head up and turned to look at the door, expecting it just to open. She put the remote down and walked over, with the blanket still on her and the bottle in her hand.
When she opened the door, standing there was her boyfriend. He must have changed before coming, because she knew he had to work today.
"Hey," He said softly.
"Hi," She said not looking at him.
"I heard from Jay you canceled dinner plans with your mom," He said.
Riley nods and steps aside so he could enter her apartment. He does so, and as he enters Riley noticed he picked up take out.
"I wasn't sure if you have had dinner yet," He said, "I mean I haven't yet so I thought I'd pick something up."
Riley smiles, "Thanks."
Will looks at her and smiles, "So what are you up to on this fine night?"
Riley shrugs, "Watching TV."
The pair glanced to the TV. Riley had stopped it on the news network. The anchor and co-anchor were discussing the Yates' case. She looks at the TV a bit different than Will had expected. She seemed a bit detached from it, like she was just trying to avoid feeling something.
Will walked over and changed the channel to the food network.
"We don't have to talk about the case," He said, "We can just sit here. Watch this women in her fiftys make some fancy bird. Eat some take out and drink some beer." He smiles at her.
Riley looks into his eyes and smiles, "Alright."
Will grabbed the food. Riley went to the fridge and got two bottles of beer, she had just finished the half empty bottle. The two made their way over to the couch. Riley put the blanket over Will's shoulders, so they were sharing it and cuddled together. Will looks at her and they share a smile.
Riley and Will begin to eat their meal, nearly avoiding speaking of the case, and were having fun teasing the food network. After Riley ate a bit of her sweet and sour chicken, she rested her head on Will's shoulders and closed her eyes.
Will didn't seem to notice it. He just ate his meal and drank his beer.

Riley woke up the following morning laying under the covers in her bed, she was cuddling against the body of her boyfriend. She slowly looked up to see the doctor still resting. A smile slowly appeared on her face.
Riley did her best to move and not wake him. She went out to the living room/kitchen part of her apartment. She went to make some coffee and then went into the bathroom to shower. She knew by the time she got out of the shower, the coffee would be done.
When she had taken her shower and got out, she saw the now awake Will pouring himself some coffee in her kitchen. He didn't seem to notice her.
He was drinking the coffee and reading the newspaper that he must have gotten. She leans against the frame of the door and smirks at her boyfriend.
