It was a quiet day in the bullpen. Everyone was at their desks working, Riley was sitting on part of Adam's desk as she typed on her laptop. Then Voight came out.
"Greg Yates escaped custody last night in upstate New York after killing two stat troopers." Voight started as he put the photo of Yates on the board, "Two ConElectric workers, and a camper, and even shot Sergeant Dodds."
"Is he going to be alright?" Antonio asks.
Riley wasn't even sure who Dodds was. It must be people they've worked with before she started working with the Intelligence Unit.
"He'll make a full recovery." Voight said, "Thank God for that."
"And Yates?" Erin spoke up.
"Pennsylvania troopers found the pickup truck abandoned on a state road. State forensics lifted Yates' prints and even got an ID from a motorist, claiming Yates was having car trouble before he was attacked and his car was stolen." Voight said.
Riley had been typing the for information relating this event of Yates escaping prison and what the local police have on it.
"He's repeated the pattern in Ohio and Indiana," Riley spoke up, "Last vehicle brought him to the Illinois border."
"That doesn't mean anything," Erin spoke.
"Erin," Jay spoke.
Erin shakes her head, "It's not him. He's trying to get into our heads." She said.
"We have a BOLO out on him," Antonio said after getting off the phone, "Investigative alert, and AMBER Alerts on the vehicles. Troopers are watching every highway coming into Chicago."
"SVU are questioning Carl Rudnick, the guy Yates escaped with, who is back in custody." Alvin said.
"Lieutenant Benson will be in touch when they have anything to report. Well, until then I want us on every transient hotel, shelter, food bank in the city. Remember, this guy will kill or maim to get what he wants."
Riley watched as Jay left with Erin, as well as Atwater and Ruzek left together. Antonio headed downstairs for something and Alvin was finishing up talking to Voight before Voight turns to Riley.
"Still have that pistol?" He asks her.
Riley pats the holster, "Yeah."
Voight nods, "Good. Keep it close with this case."
Riley, still sitting partly on Adam's desk, got up and moved to the board. She looked at the information about Gregory Yates. His victims, his path, his motivate.
"What motivate," She asks herself.

A while later, Riley was conducting her own research search into Gregory Yates. Something wasn't making any sense to her. She sat on the floor and kept glancing at the board. She noticed a photograph with a name that was familiar. Nadia. That was Erin's old friend. The Unit's former colleague.
Voight returned and motioned for Riley to follow him into his office. She followed behind Jay, Erin, and Antonio. Voight had pulled her laptop up and seemed to be calling someone through video call.
Riley sat down in a chair in front of his desk while the others gathered around the screen. Riley could tell when the call came through because Voight's demeanor changed for a split second.
"Olivia," Voight said, "Hello."
"Hank," The voice of Olivia said, "I wish the call didn't have to do with Yates."
