Riley was sitting in a diner, it was her day off. She had taken a drive after getting a phone call from the private investigator she had hired.
She wasn't in Chicago anymore, nor in Illinois. She had taken a drive to Indiana. She was sipping her coffee.
Then the bell connected to the door rang, someone had arrived. Riley's eyes went to the door, and stepping in were two adults. Riley noticed them quite well, despite their newly hair colors, she knew who they were.
When the two adults sat down at their booth, she waited til they ordered until she made her move. Riley watched as the waitress walked away from the table and then moved.
Riley sat across from the two of them, and they looked at her shocked.
"Hey, Peter." Riley smiles and then turns to the women, "Mom."
Nancy no longer had her brown her, it was now black. Peter had more blonde hair than his natural light brown hair he had. Riley looks at their clothing and it looked as if it was thrift stores, so maybe Goodwill.
"Let's chat." Riley said.

The waitress placed the order of Nancy and Peter in front of them, heck she even refilled Riley's coffee for her.
"Thank you," Riley grins at the waitress before they are left alone.
Nancy doesn't touch her eggs or sausage, she was too shocked to even do anything. Peter doesn't even look at Riley, instead he just begins to eat his breakfast.
Nancy looks at Riley, "How are they?"
When Nancy asked that question, it got Peter to freeze his attempt to eat his food while it was still warm. The piece of cut of sausage was close to his mouth, but then the man pulled back and placed it on his plate.
"Lorelei and Grace? Are they well?" Nancy asks.
Riley clasped her hands together, resting on the table as she stared at the two grown ups in front of her.
"They're both fine. Living with Will and I, since you two bailed I became their legal guardian." Riley said.
Nancy nods, "Oh- Good,"
Riley's eyebrow raised, "Good? That's all you have to say?"
Peter then finally took a bite of his meal. Nancy tried to do the same, even with Peter urging his wife to do so.
Riley looks at the two of them, "What the hell happened?"
"Riley," Nancy said as she held her fork in her right hand.
"I mean it, mom." Riley said glaring, "I was in the hospital. Fighting for my damn life and then you and the world's greatest dad here, up and leave your underage children at Chicago Med."
Peter sighs and placed his fork and knife down.
Riley looks at him, "You know my unit thought you were kidnapped at first since the guy who had sent me to the hospital was hired to kill me."
Nancy gasped, "Wha- What?"
"Don't worry, you don't have to worry about someone holding a grudge against me coming for you two." Riley said crossing her arms on her chest.
"We needed to leave, Riley." Peter said.
Riley's eyes snapped to Peter, "Excuse me? You needed to leave? Um, you two had gotten married, had children, and decided to abandon that responsibility because you had to leave Chicago?"
Peter let out a soft laugh, "You wouldn't understand."
Riley kept her glare on the former lawyer, "Oh I wouldn't? Huh, well you know my past and even know that I work with the Chicago Intelligence Unit, but no longer a tech kid. I'm a cop now."
