It was a rainy day. The day of the funeral for Riley's father. Not many people arrived, mostly because her father didn't have friends nor family. Also, because Riley didn't want to make it a big deal.
After the whole thing, Riley remain there. She held her umbrella staring at the coffin being lowered slowly into the hole.
"I'm so sorry for your lost," Voight said.
Riley nods acknowledging him.
"I'll meet you back at the station," He said.
Riley looks at him and nods. He embraces the twenty-three year old in a hug before the sergeant takes off in the direction of his vehicle.
Riley stood there a while longer. Just staring at the headstone.
Lucas James Schmidt January 5th, 1971- March 27th, 2017.
Riley just started at those cold stone words. Usually not caring about her father's existence have changed the second Will gave her the letter and everything he said was in it.
"My, my. You've grown." A familiar voice made Riley jump.
Riley turns around to see a familiar Hispanic man nearly towering over her. The buff man in his fortys covered in tattoos stared at the girl.
"Simon told me that you're working for the cops." He said.
Riley said nothing.
"What? Don't you remember me, Riley Bug?" He goes to touch her shoulder.
Riley pushes his hand back, "Stay away from me, Jesus." She said.
Jesus smiles, "Oh don't worry. I'm not about to come here and hurt you, not in a cemetery." He said.
She glares at him, "Then what are you doing here?"
"Here to pay my respects. I mean your daddy and I were real good friends, once." He said.
Riley watches him pass her, she noticed the gun holstered in his waist. He walked over to the headstone and touched it, while mumbling something she couldn't hear.
Riley glanced noting the black SUV that wasn't there before. The windows down and Riley could make out a few gang bangers in the vehicle.
"Ah," Jesus said turning around, "We lost a good one."
Riley watched him walk away from the headstone. He pulled out a flask and took a swig of it, offering it to Riley. She shakes her head.
"He'll be missed," Jesus said, "However, his debt won't."
Riley crosses her arms on her chest, "His debt isn't mine." She said.
Jesus turns to her, "Oh? Well, we'll see." He said.
Riley watches Jesus pull out a cigarette and then lit it. He placed it in between his lip and took in the toxin, only to exhale the smoke.
"It would be a shame if something bad happened to someone else you care about." He said.
Riley glares, "Is that a threat?" She asks.
Jesus turns to her, "A promise." He said.
Riley watched Jesus walk off. Within seconds, Riley exhaled breathes filled with anxiety. She stood there, beyond shocked of what just happened.

"You'll have officers posted at your apartment," Voight said.
Riley groans, "I don't need officers! I don't need protection!"
