NICO POV

The silly teacher's face was priceless. He had scared me a bit with the truth serum- if the Voldemort guy found out about us, he could start kidnapping defenseless young demigods and experimenting on them.   Secretly, almost every demigod is frightened of being found out and treated like a lab rat to scientists.

But this guy wouldn't even get that stupid potion close to my mouth. I hate being forced to tell the truth. I wouldn't give up a secret for anybody! (except maybe Will)

Then I had a thought- that was why I was sent instead of Percy. He would tell anyone anything if it involved one of his friends. Loyalty is a dangerous fatal flaw, and it can easily be held against him.

I missed them though- the crew of Argo II, the Athena Parthenos group, and especially Will. I couldn't wait to see them again.

I decided that I had to complete this mission, so that I would see my family again.

I absent mindlessly walk to the prefect bathrooms, and start to get out a drachma. I take another swig of coffee, and start a iris message to Will.

"Hey..."

Will looked up and grinned.

"Nico, how are you?"You have to tell me if something happened

"Oh, good. I just burnt an annoying teacher which makes everything better."

He stared at me, searching for the thing that I wasn't telling him. He was very good at that. "Did something happen? I thought you're supposed to be in class right now?"

I shook my head a little to quickly.

"You have to tell me if something happened. Doctors orders." He looked at me with his wide puppy dog eyes.

"Well... we had Herbology..." I look down.

"Oh." Will said in a small voice. He knew Persephone and I weren't on good terms. "Did the same thing happen as when you go near the strawberry patches..?"

I nodded.  "Well, I got out of class... so I guess thats good...'

He could see how irritated I was with my aunt.

"Don't let her get to you. Just tell the principle guy that you can't take that class."

I give a small smile. "I'll do that." Then I took out a pocket watch (its magic so you can use it in Hogwarts), and saw that it was almost time to go to my next class.

He frowned. "I want to talk to you about cutting me off last ni-"

I cut of the Iris message. he was going to be so pissed at me.

I head to the classroom, as I had seen it on my little walk last night. I enter the classroom first, and see that horrible Ginormous Dumbridge at her desk. She seems a little bit surprised to see me so early, but smiles at me sweetly. I do not return the gaze, and instead glare at her. She shifts a bit in fright (I have that effect on people- especially mortals), but keeps her sickly sweet gaze.

"Ah, Mr Di Angelo. I was wanting to ask you a few questions about that, ah, stunt you pulled last night at the feast." She says in her high pitched, girly voice that does not suit her.

"I don't think that would be necessary." I whispered back, coldly.

She didn't look very happy with that answer. "Well I would like to point out that-"

But then the rest of the class came filing in and taking their seats. I chose a seat in a corner at the back, so that I could watch the others but I would know if they were watching me. everyone sat away from me, except for Hermione, who sat right in front of me. it seemed that she wanted to be friendly, but i knew what she was doing. She wanted me to trust her, so that I would let something slip. She was very smart, but I had to study battle strategy. I knew strategy and thinking like the enemy.

Her little companions sat next to her, as usual. They kept stealing glances behind them at me, and then Hermione would scold them quietly.

"Well good afternoon!" Dumbridge said when everyone had finally taken their seats and put their books, quills and wands on their desk's.

A few people muttered a reply, but they looked like they were forcing it.

"Tut, tut." She said. "That won't do, now, will it? I should like you, please, to reply, 'Good afternoon, Professor Umbridge'. One more time, please. Good afternoon, class!"

"Good afternoon, Professor Umbridge." We chanted back, almost mechanically.

She told us to put away our wands, which I wasn't so affected by, but most of my classmates were looking very gloomy.

We were told to read a book. A book? Really? I opened it up, and pretended to read, when instead I was watching the other students and that ghastly teacher. I then noticed that Hermione had her hand up, and her book wasn't even open. Dumbridge ignored her, but it was very obvious that she saw her. Soon, lots of people started to look up, and about half of the class were watching Hermione, and the professor could ignore her no longer.

"Would you like to ask a question about the chapter, dear?"

Look, I'll be honest. I completely zoned out on that complete conversation. I was nodding off a bit. Gone were the days I could survive with no sleep at all. Will ruined that for me. Thanks. Anyway, I was starting to nod off, when I heard something hilarious that Dumbridge said.

"But you have been exposed to some very irresponsible wizards in this class, very irresponsible indeed- not to mention..." She gave a nasty little laugh. "Extremely dangerous half breeds."

At that I started laughing so hard I was shaking. Most people didn't notice with all the cries of outrage, but (naturally) Hermione did, and she looked very confused at my response.

"What's so funny?" She said, leaning in as the other students were yelling at the awful teacher. I pulled myself together long enough to answer her.

"I've met some very dangerous half breeds but I think they would find it hilarious to be called that." including me!

"Oh okay." She gave me a quick smile and turned away. I knew what she was doing- there was an old saying; 'keep your friends close, and your enemies closer,' and she believed that if she befriended me, I would trust her enough to tell her my secrets. But this could work both ways. If I could make those three trust me, or at least pretend to trust me, it would make my task so much easier.

Harry started yelling at Dumbridge about that 'what good's theory going to be in the real world?', and he was put in a detention, and sent with a letter to go and see professor Mcgonagall.

I decided to follow him, as this class was boring anyway, and I wasn't given any latin translated books.

When I shadow travelled out of the classroom, I heard yelling down the corridor. Scared yelling. Yelling for help...
