Rings 4 - Famous last words.

Working for Sir Angelo was getting better, Jennifer thought so.

Whenever the marchioness was at the office, she was always cold to Jennifer. Para bang iritado sa kanya ang babae. At hindi niya ito maintidihan dahil wala naman siyang ginawang kasalanan sa babae.

"When life throws you lemon, drink a Lemonade." someone spoke out loud.

Jennifer couldn't help the snicker that came out, she looked up from the notepad and found everyone looking at her. They were in the conference room and someone was giving a pitch for the new advertisement for a lemonade product.

"Do you have something to share, Miss Matthias?" Sir Angelo was giving her strict look, every meeting, she was expected to sit and take note. But never participate.

Jennifer was never really one to follow rules. So instead of shaking her head and being the wallflower, she spoke her opinions. Out loud. "It's not very unique. It's not catchy at all." she said, "A 5 year old can come up with better phrases."

The woman in front glared daggers at her.

She continued, "That phrase has been used for a long time now. Isn't it our jobs to come up with new phrases that people will find unique? We need a brand people will buy."

"People like stability." the woman said, "It may not be unique and it might not trend to social media networks but those products that usually trended in social media, they eventually lost touch. People stop caring."

"So you want people to settle." Jenny said. Naalala niya bigla ang Kuya Ian niya. "Someone once told me that making a lemonade when someone throws you lemon is settling." Napangiti siya sa alaala niya, "Why should we make a lemonade? Why should we settle for making lemonade? Shouldn't we fight back?"

"Your point, Miss Matthias." Sir Angelo said, his voice getting impatient.

"The point is we shouldn't expect people to settle." Jenny said.

"And my point, Miss Matthias, is that we target those who settle. We target the ones needing stability."

She sat up straight, "I don't think even those who settle will choose our brand." she said honestly, "I won't even buy a product that couldn't come up with an original tag phrase."

Some noded and some shook their head. But they only needed to hear their boss. Sir Angelo looked thoughtful. Jenny waited. "Karen, I'll need you to revise your proposal. Miss Matthias is right. Come up with an original."

Jenny hid a smile. It wasn't everyday Sir Angelo admit that she was right.

"And Miss Matthias." Sir Angelo continued, "Come up with your proposal, I will need it by the end of the week." he stood and left the room.

Others followed suit and Jenny was the only one left. She stared at the chair that was previously occupied by Sir Angelo. She was given a task! She was excited. This was the first time that Sir Angelo ordered her to do something other than getting his coffee and the works.
