Rings 14 – I trust youAngelo didn't want Miss Matthias to know about the printing press. But he had no choice. He needed someone with him and he needed her for this. The printing press was not under C-Corp. He bought it with Georgie's fortune.
This was a wedding present from Georgie. They went on their honeymoon here in Cebu and because Angelo was Angelo, he brought work with him and C-Corp was in a bidding war to buy the printing press.
He knew the potential of the printing press; it was smaller compared to the printing press in Manila but it had potential. It was printing most of the major newspapers in Cebu and he knew with the right management, this could be big.
It was supposed to be bought by C-Corp but Angelo realized that he needed this. He needed the printing press so that he could stand on his feet. So he called his father-in-law and told him that he needed a fortune. And he outbid C-Corp through a shell company.
In paper, Angelo was not the owner of the printing press but a shell company based in Singapore. He couldn't buy the printing press with his name. That would allow him to know that he bought it and that he had other income.
And this printing press was supposed to be his last card with Georgie. If she hadn't left that night, she just stayed and waited for him. Then he'd tell her that they could move here in Cebu and start anew. He'd try and forget the life he had in Manila. He wanted that.
Because even if he couldn't let go of Cassandra, he knew what he wanted that time and that was his family. No matter how much he loved Cassandra he also loved his family. And Georgie was his family.
But she left. And she met that awful accident.
He shrugged the dark thoughts away and then looked at Miss Matthias who was quick on her feet. She was already helping with the issue at the moment. So he went to the office and started making calls.
First, he needed to talk with Diaryong Cebu and handle the issue.
So he went to work and focused with what he could do to fix the issue.
He was on the computer when Miss Matthias entered the room with coffee and biscuits. He motioned for her to put it down the table.
"Did you eat, Miss Matthias?" he asked.
"That's good. The good news is that we'll be able to fly back this evening. Everything seems to be doing good. We'll be making rounds and then we'll be on our way."
"Sir?" narinig niya ang gulat sa boses ni Miss Matthias pero di siya tumingin dito. Pinagpatuloy niya ang kanyang ginagawa. "Baka gusto niyo magpahinga nalang at bukas na tayo umuwi."
Umiling si Angelo, "Hindi sanay si Peter na magkasunod na araw akong wala sa bahay."
"Eh asaan po ba kayo kagabi sir?"
Inangat na niya ang mga mata at tinignan ng masama ang babaeng nasa harap niya. Nakuha pa nitong magmukhang nahiya sa tanong, "That is none of your business, Miss Matthias. At bakit pa gustong gusto mo manatili dito?" dagdag niya.
Miss Matthias shrugged and she still looked like she was hiding something, "Wala lang po sir. Ang dami ko pong dalang gamit akala ko magtatagal po tayo."
"Madaling na iresolba ang problema kaya bakit pa tayo magtatagal?" and the more they stayed the more the printing press is in danger of being known. And of course, James' goons were for sure trying to find Miss Matthias.
There would be a hell to pay when they come back in Manila.
"Pero sir! Maganda kung makikita po natin yung actual na print nung diaryo para bukas!"
He shook his head. They didn't need to do that. He trusted the employees here at the printing press, hence, why he could go on for months without going here. And he was reminded of the fact that he needed to ask her again to keep this shut. "Miss Matthias, I trust you to keep this as a secret from everyone."
She smiled at him and he looked away. He couldn't look at her when she smiled especially with those eyes. "Of course sir, your secret is safe with me! Ako yata sir ang pinaka the best na assistant niyo."
He couldn't help but smile at the smugness of her tone. "I'm sure you would think so, Miss." He rose from his seat, "Let's go and do the rounds."

Bryony rose from the bed and ran toward the bathroom. She sank to the floor and threw up on the toilet bowl.
She felt so sick. It started in the morning and that would be the reason why she stayed in bed the whole day.
Now she couldn't stop throwing up.
God. She hated being sick.
A/N:
I'm on a holiday so I figured why not write another chapter of Angelo.
End of a decade. My gosh. And I vow to finish this before 2020 ends.
