Alex's POV

"One last push, Mrs. Mendes. One last push!" The O.B. tells me. "Come on, beautiful, you can do this!" Shawn tells me by my side giving me a kiss on my forehead. He has held my hand since the start and even though I'm sure he has some broken bones by now, he still doesn't let go. His thumb still circles reassuringly over my palm while he kisses my hand or forehand from time to time.

The angelic cries of a baby make me look up from my husband's eyes.

"Congratulations, you have a baby boy!"  The O.B. tells us and as I look at Shawn, I see him looking at the baby in the arms of our O.B. A mixture of happiness, disbelief, shock and love in his eyes.

"Beautiful, I'm a father," he says in shock while his eyes don't leave our baby. "I'm a father of a baby boy." The O.B gives me our baby boy. "You're so beautiful." I whisper to our son. "I promise, I'll always love you. I'll always protect you," I say as I caress his cheek.

"Mrs. Mendes, be ready to push again," the O.B tells me. I give her a confused look as Shawn takes over our baby boy, also with a confused look on his face. "It appears that you were pregnant with twins, Mrs. Mendes," I share a look with Shawn. He holds our son in his arms while he looks down at me in confussion. "How is that possible?" I ask our O.B. "I wasn't pregnant with twins," I whisper in disbelief.

"It seems that your baby boy protected the other baby in your whomb. That's why we couldn't hear two heart beats. It rarely happens, but sometimes it does." Shawn stares at our baby boy. His smile grows as he caresses his cheek. "He's already a protector," he says in admiration.

A nurse takes over the baby from Shawn for a check-up as I push again. Immediately after Shawn lets go of our first baby, he grabs my hand again, pressing a kiss to my temple. "Come on, beautiful. I love you." I squeeze his hand, while he gives me another kiss on my temple.

"One last push!" I hear the O.B. scream as I groan out.

Again I hear the angelic cries of a baby.

"Congratulations, it's a girl!" She lays the baby in my arms as it cries out.

"It's okay baby. Mommy will take care of you." I cooe to my baby and she immediately silences down. I carefully kiss her forehead before I have to give her to a nurse for a check-up.

"Shawn, I'm a mother," I tell my husband. "Yes, you are beautiful. You're a mother of twins," he kisses my lips as our family and friends come walking in. Have I mentioned that Shawn still hasn't let go off my hand?

"Still not a fan of all this," my father jokes gesturing to us kissing. "Shut up James!" My mother scolds my father before she goes back to her sweet loving voice. "Our baby has a baby," she cheers in a sing-song voice.

"My baby has a cousin," Megan exclaims as she rocks her daughter back and forth. "What is its name?" Hayes asks with curiousity. "What is its gender?" My sister asks the more important question. Like usual Megan is the one that asks the important things in their relationship.

"Shawn?" I ask. Shawn looks me and gives me the sign that I can talk. "Can we call our baby boy Kevin?" Shawn's face lights up. "Of course, beautiful. That's a perfect name for our boy."

"I knew it!" Megan screams out. "I knew that you would name your child after him if you have a son!" Hayes looks at her in confusion and she gives him a 'I'll explain later'-look.

"Now, I don't know if you would like this, but." Shawn gives me knowing look. "I want you to pick the other name." Shawn looks at me in shock and so does the rest of the family. "Another name? Isn't Kevin enough?" Cameron looks up in confusion. "Ever heard of middle names?" Demi scolds her boyfriend while she rubs her belly.

Demi is 7 months along of her pregnancy. Cameron was really shocked when he heard he is going to be a father at first. Unlike my pregnancy, Demi's wasn't planned. I know that Cameron is still a little bit scared that he won't be a good father, but everybody else knows, he'll make a great father. Cam has always been good with kids. He proved it when he spend endless hours at my sister's place to help them out when their daughter was born.

I think Cam just wants a little more time to prepare himself for being a father.

"No, we already have ideas for the middle names." I tell my best friend's girl. Everybody in our room looks at us confused while I just smile at them. "I know." Shawn screams out. "What about Kailee? Then both their names start with a 'K'," He tells me. "That's lovely Shawn." I kiss my husband as our babies get brought back into the room.

"Surprise!" We exclaim as we both take over one kid from the nurses.

"Say hi to Kevin Jacob Ethan Mendes." I tell our family and friends as I kiss my baby boy. My baby boy named after my best friend, his father and his little brother. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I told Shawn, I wanted to name it after at least one of them if it would be a boy. Those three guys are the reason to who I am today. Shawn thought it was a great idea, as it feels like they are still a little with me.

"And say hi to Kailee Jane Sophia Mendes." Shawn tells them as he smiles down at our daughter. Her name also has some sentiment. Jane is ofcourse Megan's middle name and Sophia was the name of Kevin's mother. Again here we had the idea of having the people closest to us with us. Shawn has never lost someone as important to him as Kevin and his family were to me, so he was perfectly fine with this. I did ask Shawn to think of a girl's name, so he did come up with one name. Although he was the one to come up with naming our kids after Kevin's complete family.

"You have twins?" My father exclaims. "And you didn't tell us?" My mother adds. She crosses her arms as she looks at me in a stern way. My parents built up an extra nursery back home, so that if we want to come visit them, we don't have to bring literally everything. In both the guest rooms they made nurseries. One for Megan's daughter and one for our kid, but ofcourse the one for us, wasn't designed for twins. Oops.

"We only found out after I gave birth to Kevin." I inform my parents calming them down in the process.

Not much after that everybody gathers around us as they congratulate us on our kids.

The happiness that overwhelms me when I look at our kids is amazing. I'm a mother and I will do anything to protect my babies. When I look at Shawn I know that he will do anything and everything for these kids.

Our kids.

One day, I hope that they experience a love like Shawn and I have. That one day they get to have the luck of having children of their own.

I mean, I do want to be a grandmother one day.

I also know that Shawn is going to spoil these kids. While I was pregnant the both of us talked about how we wanted to raise our kids. Both of us agreed that they shouldn't live with the advantage of having a famous father. If  they want a career like their father, they have to work for it themselves. So they know how to work hard. So they know what it means to chase your dreams. So they know what it means to work for what you want.

Even though we discussed all of this, I still know that Shawn is going to spoil our kids. He is going to give them a lot of presents and he'll let them do a lot of things. A lot of things, kids aren't supposed to be allowed to do. But Shawn is also going to be an overprotective father. Especially over our baby girl. He's probably going to be a younger version of my father. Maybe even worse.

Shawn is going to be one of those fathers that will personally threaten his daughter's boyfriends or any boy that even comes near her.

I also have a feeling that my Kevin is going to be a great brother to Kailee. He's going to be a younger version of his father, but will actually hurt a boy when they come close to his sister.

I can only hope that they won't ruin her change for love.
