8. She's like addicted to those things

"Are you okay, babe?" Matthew's deep voice rumbles behind me. I feel him very close behind me. He wraps his arms around me from the back as he places a kiss to my temple.

"Yeah, just a little tired," I answer while I close my locker. Immediately Matt turns me around. He presses me rather rough with my back against my locker.

Then he forces his lips on mine. I want to tell him I don't want to that here in the middle of the hallway. Where literally everyone can watch, but he has a tight grip on both my wrists so I can't push him away.

"Matt, not here," I whisper at him as he pulls away because of a lack of breath. "What's wrong babe?" I roll my eyes at him, mostly at the nickname.

"I don't want to do this not here. Not in the middle of the hallway," I tell him before he presses his lips against mine again. "Now everyone knows you're mine," he says emphasizing 'mine'. I roll my eyes, but before I can say anything, he's already gone.

"What was that?" Liv says standing next to me. I raise my eyebrows at her in question. "That with Matt?" I shake my head to shrug it off and go left where she goes right.

I don't want to talk about my little thing with Matt. It's nothing that important. He just wants to show the world I'm his. He wants to show the world that we're together. I get that, I'm just not a big fan of PDA.

Friday, after I came back from babysitting, I immediately went to bed. Only to wake up early in the morning with a sweet morning text from my boyfriend. He came by our place Saturday to record our song. At first, he was a little starstruck about the fact that I'm a Mendes, but he soon snapped out of that when my father practically threatened him.

Especially when my mother invited him over for dinner, he wasn't as happy and starstruck anymore.

Of course, he couldn't say no to my mother's electric blue eyes. She has this certain look to her eyes when she wants something. It's pretty scary. No one can say no to that. I should know, she has used that look a lot on dad, Kevin and I. Well, mostly Kev and I, because my father would give her anything she wants just to make her happy.

Safe to say that Matthew had probably one of the most awkward nights of his life. Kevin and dad kept bombarding him with questions. All kinds of questions.

Let's just say it was more of an interrogation than a normal dinner conversation. I felt sorry for him, but every single time I wanted to help him out, my father silenced me with a death glare.

After dinner, Matthew came up with an excuse to get out of the house as soon as possible. He told me he would text me later, but he didn't. The next morning I didn't wake up with a sweet good morning text. All of Sunday I hadn't heard anything from him.

"Hey babe," I hear a voice that obviously belongs to Matt. He grabs my wrist and pulls me towards him. "Skip with me," he whispers as he rests his hands on my waist.

"Skip?" I whisper back. "Yes, you know. Not going--"

"I know what skipping is Matthew. I just don't want to do it," I cut him off. "Why not?" he whines holding my waist even tighter.

"Because one, I have a test next period and two, you and I are both having a problem with my parents," I inform him as I try to wriggle out of his grasp.

"Are you being goody two shoes now?" He says raising his eyebrows. "Yes, because I don't want to lose my instruments for months," I snap at him.

"Please? It's just skipping a day of school. By the way, that's your punishment? Losing your instruments? That's all?" he asks in disbelief.
