"Here let me help you," Kevin says taking my hand. I immediately retreat my hand from his. "I can take care of myself," I say with a pissed-off tone while I set my foot on the stairs.
I've been out of the hospital for around a week now. I feel perfectly fine and not everything is hurting anymore, but my overprotective brother and boyfriend don't want to listen to that.
Every day when school ends they jump in the car and drive home. After that, it's over with my rest. When I only move my hand to grab a drink, the two of them rush to get by my side and hand me the drink. It's honestly annoying.
At first, I found it funny. I made great use of it, I might've also abused my power a little bit. Just a little bit. Anyway, as the week went on, their help got more annoying. Even my parents weren't that paranoid.
My mom goes to teach every single day and lets me do my own thing. She even leaves Evan here at home for me to take care of. Dad went on tour in Europe and he still calls every day to check on me, but that's not annoying or anything. It just shows he cares.
"Aiwee!" Evan is seated at the bottom of the stairs holding his hands in the air while I walk down. I smile at my little brother, he's gotten quite big as he's already almost a whole year old. He even started talking already, which is really early, but his vocabulary doesn't go further than the baby version of my name, 'momma' and 'dada'.
Evan can't pronounce Kevin's name yet and hasn't tried either. He always just points at Kev and he immediately runs over to his little brother. It makes Kevin quite annoyed that Evan didn't pronounce his name, which makes me very amused because nothing is better than an annoyed Kevin.
I pick up my little brother who starts babbling at me. "Babe, that's bad for your back." Jay comes rushing over to me slamming the front door in its lock. Yes, he's got a key to our front door now. Just to be clear, that was not my idea. He reaches over to take the baby out of my hands, but I turn away from him pressing Ethan protectively against my chest.
"Lee," Jay threatens. I shrug and walk towards the kitchen with my baby brother in my hand. "Lee Lee, you should be careful. Your little brother is heavy." I roll my eyes at Jay. I really love him, but he's just so annoying sometimes. Especially when he gets overprotective.
"I can take care of myself, you know?" I shout towards the hall where Jay stands throwing a little tantrum. "You are injured, Lee Lee," Jay shouts back.
"Our brother and my boyfriend are being annoying, aren't they?" I ask Evan with a voice people use when they talk to babies. "Should we leave them?" Evan cheers in my arms throwing his chubby little arms in the air.
With my little brother in my arms, I walk out of the door onto the beach. Evan starts babbling excitedly. He points out the sea and the sand for me before he starts clapping his hands together. I chuckle at him giving him a big kiss on his temple.
"Oh my god! He's so cute! Is he yours?" A female voice cheers beside me. Evan immediately makes grabby hands to where the voice is coming from. I turn around to see a young woman with a little girl in her hands standing behind me.
"No, he's my little brother," I tell the lady. She looks to be around twenty years old. "Well, he's a cutie anyway. What's his name?" She sits down in the sand and I sit down beside her.
We start talking. The young lady's name is Jenna, her daughter Lilly is around the same age as Evan. Jenna is a single mother as her daughter, Lilly, was conceived from a one-night-stand. She knows who the father is, but he's happy with another girl. She didn't want to bother him, even though she's clearly in love with him. It's evident in her whole being when she talks about him, but he doesn't know of Lilly's existence. After Jenna found out she was pregnant, she moved away here to LA. She couldn't stay around as the father is an old childhood friend of hers.
