"We're going to be big siblings!" I jump up and down in excitement. We arrived at the hospital about 50 minutes ago. We are placed in the waiting area. Our friends and family arrived not much after us. We haven't heard much of what's happening, but I hope everything is going well.
"Sit down Kailee!" My aunt Megan tells me. I immediately seat myself down next to my brother. "Is she okay? Is he or she born yet? Have you heard anything yet?" My grandmother comes rushing in with a worried expression on my face.
"Relax mom!" Aunt Megan seems to be calming down everybody at the moment. "They'll tell us anything when they can." Grandfather walks in after grandmother with a slight smile on his face. "Everything will be alright. It's our child, she'll pull through," he reassures his wife wrapping his arm around her waist.
I look around me and smile. All around me are people waiting. Not only are our family and friends waiting, but there are a lot of other families waiting for the little family-expansions coming to the world.
All around us are people hopeful, impatient and tired. Some families are talking to each other. Some families are walking around impatiently, like me and some other families are just sitting there staring at their phones or the wall.
"Have you heard anything?" Aaliyah comes into the door. She's followed in suit by her family. "No," grandma tells her and just after that my other grandparents walk in. "My boy is going to be a father," grandpa says proudly to no one in particular.
"Again," Kevin and I say again in a hurt tone holding our hands to our hearts. On the other side of the waiting room, I see Jay look annoyed Kevin and me. He still hates it when we talk in unison.
"What did our kids create?" Grandma Mendes asks grandmother Lancaster. "I don't know, but I'm thinking they are a lot like my Alex with a mixture of Shawn," she answers.
"How are you kiddo?" Aaliyah asks me nudging my shoulder. I turn my head towards her with a smile. "I'm getting a baby sibling," I tell her widening my smile.
"I was not talking about that," Aaliyah tells me nodding towards a certain brown-haired-boy with 'Dallas' as the last name. "I was talking about that."
I stare at him just as he looks this way. His smile brightens and he walks my way. When he arrives, he wraps his arms around me from behind me. "Your baby sibling is here soon," he whispers in my ear. I nod my head before I lean into his chest.
Aaliyah shrieks in delight. "This is the best day of my life." All the Reeds-men, well actually boys, turn towards Aaliyah in shock. "Excuse me?!?!" They ask with wide eyes and their mouths open.
"What about the day I was born?" Aless asks. "Or the day I was born?" Adries asks as well. "And me?" Little Atlas asks in a sweet innocent voice. "Ever thought about the day we got married?" Adan asks with a hand over his heart.
"Get over it," Aaliyah tells them waving them off. They give her a glare. "Okay fine, it's one of the best days of my life."
"What's wrong with your aunt?" Jay whispers in my ear. His voice consists out of disbelief and wonder. I start laughing really loud. Jay loosens his grip a little bit and leans to the side. I don't have to look his way to know he's watching me laugh.
Once again, Aaliyah shrieks like a teenage girl. "I don't want to know what's she's going to do when she sees that baby," Aless and Kevin mutter at the same time.
Out of nowhere, Aaliyah grabs my hand and pulls me out of Jay's arms, towards the ladies room. With a confused look on my face, I stare at the woman in front of me who looks like a teenage girl.
